Generally it improves the clarity and crispness of the vocals especially, which is great compared to earlier versions. But I do feel in some instances it brings sounds to the front of the mix that originally weren't meant to be as audible (like She Said She Said for example, sounds really weird now compared to what I'm used to).

wow! an additional 5 minutes of john and paul singing "yellow submarine." it's wonderful

i think the “and your bird” first version (without laughter) is the standout track by far. it’s wonderful, the final version fits the album better but i prefer this one for sure

lots of cool stuff, but man, i wanted more. a disc of instrumentals for every song from the era instead of the album again in mono

hahah it looks like i forgot to finish my damn sentence. i'm saying a disc of instrumentals...would've been a good start! and maybe some choice acapellas etc. and more tracking session banter, more demos and fragments etc...the pet sounds box set would have been a decent model. if not now, then when? are we supposed to wait another 25 years lol

at least they didnt combine revolver and rubber soul out of a sheer lack of content which was in discussion early on kek

tbh discs 4 and 5 are pissing me off more now that i'm actually listening to them lol...pretty much ANYONE who's in the market for this box already has a (vastly superior) way to hear the original mono mix, that's easy...and the ELEVEN MINUTES of music on disc 5 easily could've fit on discs 1 to 3. this is such a shameless way to jack up the price without adding any real value. meanwhile official instrumentals and acapellas are a great way to add discs/get $$$, would've been win-win

i mean sure, but it's really about being able to say it's (and charge for) a "5-CD boxed set" even if one disc is something most people already have and another disc is 2 versions of 2 songs

hmm yeah well I'm never one for the expensive box sets anyway, because indeed it's mostly a marketing trick to get you to pay more for something that shouldn't be more than 20 - 30 $ by filling it up with unfinished demo's and other studio outtakes, that I always feel were left out of the final product for clear and obvious reasons and I don't need to hear.

i'm the opposite. give me everything! but don't waste space (or the customer's money) on stuff they already have (or could easily fit on fewer discs)
