super underrated. love to hear them play the songs live at Tokyo Dome or Flashpoint, also live at the Max movie.

My first "real concert" was seeing the Stones from the 13th row on the '89 Steel Wheels tour. Even as a 12 year old I could tell this album was a return to form for The Stones. It charted the way for the next decade, and what would prove to be the last great creative spurt in the band's extraordinary history. Steel Wheels deserves its storied "underrated" status.

"I first heard this when I was about 8 and I was stuck in a traffic jam for about 4 hours, with my dad playing this album on repeat. Best traffic jam ive been stuck in." -- Seriously lucky there. It's an absolutely FANTASTIC album - my favorite by them. (Hell, it was even my favorite album period for a while.) It's such a shame it seems to be overlooked compared to some of the other albums...

I think this is actually my favorite 80s album by The Stones. It doesn't hurt that it's the first one I heard by them, either.
