every song on this album is pretty much every "doomer" song that came out in the last 10 years and copied it

I had kind of forgotten for a while how good this album is. This, Faith and Pornography.

Except "A Forest", which is a much-publicized song, none of the tracks here really stand out, which actually makes this album exceptional. Probably the most homogenous and sparse Cure album out there, this record really has no equal on a grey, cold and misty day. The atmospheric post-punk music of this album is very unique and quite underappreciated.

Even within the album, "A Forest" barely stands out, and that really adds to the ethereal. soothing and undisturbed listening experience.

My fucking favourite The Cure album by far! This album is great. It has this dark, beautiful, sleepy and relaxing atmosphere.

I am inlove with this record. This is like... the definiton of the gothic culture. It so dark, gloomy and yet emotional. This is the perfect soundtrack for a walk in an empty park past midnight. I'll make such a walk quite soon while listening to The Cure - their gothic rock albums. :}

soundtrack for still and empty moments of meditating on the absurdity of human endeavor in a cold and meaningless world.
