My Dad's favorite Beatles album. My favorite is the one that came next, Revolver.

I think if you could compile the best tracks from the first five records down to two records, I'd agree, you'd have a really good pop band. But there's a lot of uninspired filler and of course quite a few covers. But I agree that this album is a monumental improvement, and the next string of records put them firmly in the classic rock canon.

Say what you want, but this album changed the face of the 1960s and The Beatles forever. An extremely influential album then and now.

Bob Dylan fooled the world for decades claiming to have written many of the melodies to his hit songs when in fact most of the melodies were from preexisting songs that he did not write. In a last nail in the coffin scenario James Damiano's movie "Eleven Years" draws the straw that breaks the camel’s back, rivets Bob Dylan to his secret past of plagiarism and rewrites musical history"......The New York Times Bob Dylan 's Stealing of James Damiano 's Songs [url removed]

Didn't the judge in that case say that the ONE song Dylan was accused of stealing from Damiano ("Dignity" supposedly being a stolen version of Damiano's "Steel Guitars") bore no resemblance to the song he allegedly stole? Also why doesn't Damiano put "Steel Guitars" up on, say, YouTube so that we can all hear it for ourselves and hear how similar it sounds to the Dylan song? And why are you spamming a last.fm page about a Beatles album with this?

I constantly go back and forth between this and Revolver as my favorite. I think George himself said he thought of this and Revolver as parts I and II, which I really like. This has some really warm, wonderful folk inspired tunes and Revolver gets a little more experimental and psychedelic, so they balance each other nicely...

Really? That's odd that George should think that. I love both of them but I think Help! and Rubber Soul are a bit more of a piece than Revolver and Rubber Soul are. Help! also has that jangly, Byrds-and-Dylan-inspired Folk Rock type of sound that's all over RS and that they had largely moved on from by the time of Revolver. I do often spin this one and Revolver together, though. Back when burning CDs was such a big thing for me I was never without a CD-R holding both albums back to back.
