Great album. Say what you want about Dio, he's a helluva singer. And Blackmore's lead guitar is tremendous throughout. They got a pretty solid batch of songs here, performed and produced excellently. 1975 was a sensational year for hard rock/ heavy metal and while I wouldn't quite put RBR up there with the likes of Physical Graffiti, Toys in the Attic, or Sabotage, it is certainly an excellent record and one of the better heavy metal albums of the mid 70's for sure.

Rising and Long Live Rock and Roll may have more power and better songs, but I love this album so much. I find it so relaxing and easy to listen to. Catch the Rainbow and Temple of the King are so beautiful

I love this album! If merged with Rising, it would be the best album in history, period.

"Black Sheep of the Family" - such a great track. One can clearly hear Rainbow's sound of these days rooting in Elf's! The whole album is a masterpiece, although i always considered "Man On The Silver Mountain" more powerful when played live.

Masterpiece album, every song is perfect. Unshakable perfection of classic rock. Impossible not to listen, impossible not to love.
