On April 25th, 2006, a mine collapsed in Beaconsfield, Tasmania, Australia. There were three miners who did not make it out with the rest. One, Larry Knight, was killed. The other two, Todd Russell and Brant Webb, were trapped in a cage nearly a kilometre below the surface. After it was discovered that these two were alive, contrary to early fears, they were sent food and water, and amongst other things, mp3 players to listen to while the rescue took place. One of the miners requested Foo Fighters music. Dave Grohl heard about this, and was reportedly brought to tears. He sent the pair a message which read "Though I'm halfway around the world right now, my heart is with you both, and I want you to know that when you come home, there's two tickets to any Foos show, anywhere, and two cold beers waiting for yous. Deal?". Grohl wrote the song "Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners" as a further tribute to them, collaborating with Kaki King in this guitar duet.
