Description
Sydney will host Foals for a special one-off club show at Oxford Art Factory on Wednesday 23rd January. Australia will be among the first in the world to hear their forthcoming album live, with this Sydney show the only way fans can get up close and sweaty with the band outside of Big Day Out. SECOND SHOW ANNOUNCED DUE TO HIGH DEMAND.
The UK outfit last week announced details of the new album via their website, declaring, "It's called HOLY FIRE. And it's like meaningful or something. Dig it, or don't. Either way it's coming soon."Speaking to NME about the new album, frontman Yannis Philippakis revealed, "There are some heavier moments and some dirtier moments. It's swampy, some of the grooves are quite stinky."
Foals' 2008 debut album Antidotes captured the bands thick live energy and sense of spontaneity that had made Foals one of the most sought-after live acts in the UK. Their 2010 follow-up Total Life Forever delved into more expansive, eloquent sounds. Now Foals have teamed up with production dream-team Flood and Alan Moulder for their third and highly anticipated album Holy Fire.
Foals have amassed a legion of fans since they first unleashed their math-rock on the world in 2007 with cult single Hummer. Never losing the detail of their recorded material, Foals are frantic and fierce live; a notion widely acknowledged across the globe. They bring grunt and sweaty determination into any venue they step foot in and Sydney's Oxford Art Factory will be no different in January.
