Combining poly-rhythmic tapping guitars, pulsing analogue synth, vocal melodies and chopping drum-lines, Foals create organic agitated dance-pop.

They recently signed to Sub Pop for US distribution and featured on the cover of NME magazine, tipped as band of the year for 2008. In March of 2008 they were a featured “Breaking Artist” by Rolling Stone. Their debut album Antidotes, produced by Dave Sitek, was released in March 2008 on CD, LP and a limited 2 CD version featuring a bonus disc. Its album tracks saw Foals move away from their characteristic math rock sound toward one that was dreamier and slower paced.

Foals are known for the intensity and jam nature of their live performance. They formed in Oxford, UK in 2005.

i mean, just imagine if battles had a traditional singer. the music is really similar but foals just use more dance-rock melodies and singing. like just listen to Race In, bad trails and Tonto by battles and you'll see what i mean.

Battles are rly good, but I don't think, that they are very similar to foals. Foals got more Songs, while Battles do their experimental stuff. Theri both great, but I can't find anything like foals, this sound mixed with songs

i think their most similar artist is definitely Battles. i saw battles today and there is this one song off of Mirrors that halfway through i always want to start singing the words to a foals songs. they're kind of similar to white williams too. i think last.fm does similar artist by like location/scene or something.
