Knew I could convince you to, lol! No worries, not an art critic by any means, jokingly maybe but not for real :P. Looked up the Alice movie you mentioned, and the cover for it really shook me for some reason ehhh from that it seems something I'd like, but from your comment I might trust your judgement. Reminds me of "Suspiria" which was enjoyable and paced well for me, you must've watched that, right? Most looking forward to seeing the Alan Partridge movie cause I've been fond of that character for a while and wanna see how he does in a major motion picture setting.Talk to you later!!!

Hi, thanks, I'm good too :) Yes, I definitely like to read books, i like different genres. One of my favorite authors is Ray Bradbury, when I need something "for the soul", i read his books. I also like Dostoevsky, Remark, Sartre. The last book I really liked was Grapes of Wrath by J. Steinbeck (it's about an american family which tries to survive during the great depression). What about you? :)

Woah hey real long time since last chatting...been doing alright, thanks and hope you are as well! Just been busy from working at a hotel with long hours, yourself? Oh well I'd like to see some of your drawings if you're not too keen to keep them private haha :) Seen any notable movies lately? Last one at the theaters I saw was "Place Beyond the Pines", which fell a little short for me for some reason cause I wanted it to go in other directions and for the characters to be fleshed out more, but didn't mind it and it kept you fixed to the screen, it was sure shot nice. Anything you're looking forward to, films or otherwise? Bye!

Thanks for the recommendation! I've watched Repulsion, it's a great movie (I especially appreciated the acting of Catherine Deneuve and cameraman's work). It reminds me of Hitchcock's Psycho but in Repulsion we learn about schizophrenia from the different side. Have you watched The Shining?

Me too, I also like different genres except maybe completely stupid comedies. Now I'm obsessed with psychological thrillers like Fight Club or Black Swan. Btw, is Hour of the Wolf a psychological thriller? I think David Lynch makes great mindfuck movies, like Mullholland Drive and Lost Highway. Have you watched any of them?

Just need to be able to put the time in, be able to replicate effectively what you see in real life/imagined and always never be satisfied with your work/staying comfortable drawing the same things. If you keep at it and don't underestimate yourself, you might be able to! Really want to get into the medical/techincal areas for work, as they're reliable and interesting to me (just not clever or confident enough for the top tier spots hehe). What about yourself? Always nice to chat!

No problem! Usually like to spend my time drawing, or doing other quiet things like cross-stich/embroidery/cooking. Also I go do soccer/running/biking and volunteer at a home while trying to find a paying job. What are you up to when you have free time? :) Nice page you have on tumblr, thanks for the follow! Yeah, Mark Ryden is so good at blending/colour choices to create surrealism and laying out these scenes you could possibly never dream up yourself. Seems like he has many admirers around that try to replicate that, can't blame them! Bye!

A mystery sort of book that doesn't have the best developed characters but has a super odd atmosphere that's great to dive in instead is "Vurt"; read it 10 times, for real there's not been a book like it I've gone through yet. Thanks for all these books to add! Remeber seeing one of Haruki Murakami's books on display somewhere, and it looked intriguiging so it's nice you refreshed that memory. Yeah, need to revisit Orson Scott Card's series; picked it up when I was pretty young but at that age you're always too hyper to finish :P. When it came out I read Patti Boyd's biography "Wonderful Tonight" when I was really into the sort of music that provides the backdrop and it stuck with me; boy she's lived it up. You might find you like it too, hope that's the case!

That "Cloud Atlas" movie seemed to have slipped through the cracks, will try it cause of the category its under (and "Some Like it Hot" as well)! Don't really have the best attention span, but I always like sci-fi/supernatural/horror/fantasy books (the one nearest to me is "Firefly" by Piers Anthony, where the style really reminded me of Clive Barker, who is my favorite writer & the one where I've read the most under their name). Also, I'm currently trying to make it through "Wizard's First Rule";kinda goofy, but it keeps you turning the page. Music biographies are good too; the ones that I most remember and have gone back to is "I'm With the Band" by Pamela Des Barres and "The Dirt". Kind of fluff stories, but hey they keep you occupied lol. What genres do you like & what would you offer as worthy reading? :)

Hi, I'm sorry for the late reply! Yeah, Poe is great :) I really love Hermann Hesse, Margaret Atwood and Haruki Murakami too. There are lots of others but I don't want to ramble too much! ;) How about you? How was your Christmas and new year?

Yeah, it sure has been! Not too bad, thank you; and yourself? Been a little bogged down as well. Last few movies I saw were "Caravaggio", which was very enjoyable because of the time period and subject matter. Might seem a little stuffy because it's about a renaissance painter but it's a great watch that you may very well end up liking. Also, "Gentleman Prefer Blondes" (afraid that might be the case now too haha :P), which had a lot of wholesome charm and some quite funny moments considering it's age. Seen anything you liked? Same to you!

Happy (belated) Christmas to you too!!! Well not DVDs but some sketchpads and slippers which made me really happy :D Did you get what you wanted? Will try this new movie suggestion out, thanks! Oh, have seen the "Hobbit" just before the holidays and wow, it sure beat 1-3 definately for me personally; had a great time but was disappointed that it ended where it did I was on the edge of my seat!! Take care :)

Would have to say the same as well! (Cold weather wakes you up more & is better for sleep). Last one was A Christmas Story...always try to watch it, and have seen it very many times that it is a staple. Never fail to laugh at the Santa putting a boot to him and his wish :P. And yourself?

That is very funny to think you would watch it at a party... in a dark closed room somewhere would be better? ;) Maybe you can get to watch it with some open people next time! A new movie trailer that looked kind of good is "Gangster Squad", like "The Black Dahlia"? Am a fan of Josh Brolin, so it might be one to check out. Do you know of any notable movies in that time period? Love the costumes and sets and dialouges usually in those types. Bye!!

Fine, thank you and the same to you!! :) Wow yeah definately have heard good things about those movies before, have just never gotten the chance to try them out. Stylized movies like that with a lot of effort into choreography can be something to see. Have you ever seen Tetsuo (1989) before? Seems like you'd enjoy it (have to watch it in blocks because it can be too much)! :o

The only martial arts movies I've seen are "Kung Fu Hustle" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", but reading up on your suggestion made me curious, thank you! Revenge tales usually make good entertainment, and doing it in an athletic way is pretty cool :) If you are looking for a revenge tale set in Medieval times (aren't they all like that), you might like "Flesh+Blood". 80s swords & sorcery movies are great even if they're cheesy (especially if).

Couldn't really get through the books either; was a little too descriptive and wordy, but guess that's how he wanted the pictures to be built inside reader's heads. When I looked up 'Taxidermy', it immediately reminded me of Se7en, with the obese guy in the pictures. Read a few of the comments about it and boy, definately not a popcorn feature (won't have any if I watched it). Hope it was good and disgusting and up to (lowbrow) standards! Just caught "Billion Dollar Brain" on TV last night; Michael Caine's always good in a role, but it was alright. The scenery kind of stole it. :P

Haven't heard of "Only the Young" ; saw the movie poster which makes it compelling. Many times I go by that alone which is a bad habit. Ooh yes the Oz one, that's right! So its going to focus on other parts of the books? Might have some nice dark twists to it. Just waiting patiently for the Hobbit; even though I said before Peter J. should go back to his roots, remember having a good time with them years back. It better not have false endings & clock in at 3 and 1/2 hrs though (bit of a strain lol) :)

Oh haha that's okay. Good to hear that! Yeah, seeing War of the Worlds in theater was not one of my favourite outings to say the least. Too many quick cuts, harsh lights and endless screaming from the girl. Wanted to leave 20 mins in. The mechanical aliens were scary and effective though; the way they offed people was awful. Looking forward to any new movies?

Hey yeah saw Skyfall and thought it was pretty good! Probably the best for me was the variety of locations; Shanghai was so sleek and colourful (wish to go there) and Scotland was very pretty. And the opening; well done beyond belief! It reminded me of 'Seven Nation Army' for some reason. It was neat how Javier Bardem's villian was an ex-spy; he seemed very much like Peter Stormare in 'Fargo'. And the women were very beautiful; both had good chemistry, but they could have been featured more; yes Sévérine could have been developed more like you said. And a nice suprise was seeing Pingu from 'Nathan Barley' as Q! That rooftop chase in Turkey was harrowing! (3/4) Have a recommendation for you (still need to hunt it down, but the review looks interesting): "Nails - AKA Gvozdi" by Andrey Iskanov

DeadAlive is sure one that'll stick with you forever...can never view custard in the same light again (a beloved dessert;tainted!) Really want to see "Bad Taste"; Peter Jackson needs to revist horror again. Never heard of Argento, guess people need to? Really love zombie (like everyone else) and Hammer Horror films; gorefests can get repetitive but they're massive fun. Have a copy of "Rue Morgue" with me and they have plenty of good suggestions if you'd want any. Oh yeah, Akira! Will do. Aren't they making it into live action? Gonna see Bond on the weekend, so thanks for the heads up! Grew up with the Pierce Brosnon movies...so it's a good thing he emulates him? Thought in the trailers Javier with his blond hair looked really out there...guess he didn't stray too far from a stock loony villain from what you've said. No, not all all! There's always room for movie talk! :P

Quite well, thanks! And you? Persepolis is fantastic, it really stays faithful to the style of the comic, and I've heard good things about Waltz With Bashir, so will definately check it. Alice seems great and I'm familiar with Jan, but the only stop motion ones that I've seen that I remember are James & the Giant Peach and Coraline. Not too informed when it comes to Japenese animation (better with horror manga), but I liked Blood: The Last Vampire and Ghost in the Shell, which are ones many know already. At the moment trying out 'Antropophagus', after watching 'The Secret of Roan Inish' (quite a contrast) ;) P.S. Why didn't the latest Bond sit well with you?

Those definatley sound up my alley, thank you for suggesting! (especially the Solyaris one; really can't go wrong when it comes to futuristic movies) Uhh, some ones that I'd offer would be anything Ralph Bakshi if you're into adult animation; currently catching up on movies from my childhood like Return to Oz, Watership Down, The Polar Bear King (listed as "Kvitebjørn Kong Valemon") and Fly Away Home. One of my favourites that is beautifully made and delivers laughs from physical comedy would be "The Triplets of Belleville".

Hola! I think I have to apologize for my absence. I kind of checked out for a while. Lots of little projects around the house and a major case of Spring Cleaning haven't left me with a lot of time to fool around on this site or any others. I haven't read After Dark yet, I don't even think it's on my list yet. Me thinks I should add it post haste. I've been reading The Game of Thrones the past few weeks. I have about 50 pages left and am really excited to start the second book in the series. Love the book and the TV show. Other then that, nothing much has been going on. Life continues to be a but mundane lol. How are you doing? Hope everything is good. :D

OMG Hiiiiiiiiiiii! What kind of project? And yay for you almost being done! Or maybe you've finished now. Well, yay either way! :D How are you doing? Other then being super uber busy with your project? I've been fine, so no worries there! I have been busy doing boring mundane day to day life stuff. Errands, yardwork, cleaning, and on and on. Everyone in my family except me has been sick in the last few weeks so I've been taking over everything so they can get better. I've been falling down on the movie front (although I've been watching and rewatching the 25th anniversary DVD of Phantom of the Opera like a crazy person) and haven't had much time to read anything this month. I have been watching a lot of Korean dramas, though. I'm addicted to those things. And rewatching the first series of the BBC show Sherlock. And I'm running out of characters and should probably end this now. Hehe. :D

HIIIIIIIIII! *waves enthusiastically* I'm fine. Super busy and going to lots of job interviews. So far no job but I am hopeful. Also enjoying our summer weather in the middle of January. Gotta love the Santa Ana wind heat waves. Hot and windy. At least we don't get the winds as bad as they do down in the LA area. I just checked out Alexandra. She is very good! When I have more funds I shall have to purchase her CD. Love the samples on iTunes. :D So how are you? How has your January been?

My fave movie? Roman Holiday. I've loved that movie since I was a little girl and I don't think it's going to change anytime soon. But other then Roman Holiday I couldn't choose another favorite movies because there are too many. Do you have an ultimate fave movie?

I don't have a top ten of movies because there would be, like, nearly 100 crammed into the top ten. I do have an all time favorite film, though. So at least when people ask, "What your fave movie?" I can answer. :-P I really liked Super 8. It reminded me of me and my friend's when we were that age. We made movies like the kids did. We were odd. I did think it ended rather abruptly. I would have liked to see a few minutes worth of what happened after the alien left.

My year is going...well, it's going. Haha. Not good, not bad. Just...meh. And how is your year going thus far? So you just watched Amadeus? I love, love, LOVE that movie. So good. I think I'm going to have to watch it again. I think I'm going to watch Super 8 with the parents tonight. Hoping it will be good. *crosses fingers*
