Thanks for the kind words, man. I record in Propellerhead Reason. I mic my guitar amp, play the keys/synths and "play" the drums on MPC pads (I don't have a proper drum kit/mics to record a kit....and I'm a terrible drummer).

Since I'm a lurker, I came across your song "Control", and it is great, the last 2 minutes are indeed fantastic...and still, you will do better.

Well I absolutely adore Teen Dream and Devotion, my favourite tracks are Take Care, Used to Be, Gila and Master of None... you should listen to those :) I feel like this album is a bit faster and less dreamy-hazy but it's great nonetheless, it's different. Whereabouts in Canada do you live?

It's absolutely stellar, I've been listening to it for the majority of today and I'm in awe, I swear it keeps getting better. I feel a bit bad though because we weren't meant to hear it until May. I'm now planning my trip to Belgium towards the end of May so I can go see them live...

New York City. It's on my events page. That show sold out within an hour so unless you want to pay a ridiculous amount of money for a ticket on StubHub or somewhere else, you probably won't be able to get in.

Aw shieeet. I don't even know if I'm done exams then but I think I'm gonna go to the Montreal show, seeing as how I wouldn't have to pay for transportation. Yer welcome to stay at my place, for free, if you wan'. "The songs will be accompanied by a cinematic production, which will utilize four large, undulating spheres positioned just below the lighting rig." FOUR LARGE UNDULATING SPHERES!

I've tried several times, even got a few singles and albums floating around on CD somewere, just not my thing bar a couple of songs. I've heard tales of a Pixies themed bar in America, were all the cocktails are named after song names and lyrics and they have all artwork and signed memoribilia lining the place. You should seek it out!

Well, I work for Public Health Agency of Canada and our home-lab is actually in Guelph, so I usually visit a few times a year for one thing or another (my lab's in Lethbridge). I really like the Guelph vibe and the university is really good. Hey, when you mentioned you were from Kingston I was gonna ask about PS I Love You. I totally lucked out on seeing them, they were touring with Japandroids and Frog Eyes and I was about to wuss out on not driving the 2 hours to Calgary for the show. Never heard of PSILY before but found the album on soulseek and could not stop listening to it and made it to the show. They were really good live...these two shy dudes just rockin' it mightily. Paul is a really good gtr player. You gotta check'em out. I think I might be coming to Guelph next month so I will keep you posted, hopefully there are some good shows and we can grab a beer.

All Tomorrows Parties, you should have heard of it. It's the best festival around aha. It's on 4 or 5 times a year and they pick a different band to curate each one. The band who curates it gets to pick all the other bands playing amidst other things. So you get lineups you never though imaginable aha.

Guelph? cool...I'm from Ottawa and even lived in G for a little while. Now I live in Alberta and it's a bit of a culture shock...but I love Guelph, it's got a cool vibe to it...being close to all those great shows in TO doesn't hurt either. But yeah, I go there a couple of times a year for work, I'll let you know the next time and you can lmk if there are any cool shows worth checking out ! ps. I've been a Wire fan for so long (that's why I got into the middle synthpop period before I had a chance to discover their 70s punk stuff). Got to see them for the first time a couple of years ago...even got to chat with them for a little bit. It was pretty cool. For dudes in their 60's those dudes rock it !
