Thanks, yeah it's a tiny venue, fits just barely over 100 people and the stage is barely knee-height. Altar of Plagues are doing an extra farewell tour for Europe, just to say goodbye to the fans there, and then they're disbanding 100% for real - they've posted several times about why they're doing it on their facebook.

Album of the year and it's not even close man. There have been plenty of other good albums but you're dead is still blowing me away every listen.

really not a whole lot this year that i've come across yet, the instrumental stuff keaton henson released was pretty rad and unexpected though. if you're into dreamy stuff, the new foxes in fiction record is really solid, too, it's on spotify and here - http://foxesinfiction.bandcamp.com/album/ontario-gothic

Haha, yeah. I used to check out track pages and see if people thought the same things as me. I haven't done it in a while though.

Thanks. Your charts seem unfamiliar to me as well, with some of those I know and enjoy listening, like Those 5 above, marked as common musicians - they're crazy cool ! :)

Agalloch are a great band. It's definitely been far too long since I've spent much time with them! Still yet to listen to their new one. I feel similarly to you regarding La Dispute, I used to love Somewhere and Widlife while these days they are more of an occasional listen for me. Rooms of the House, however, grows on me each time I listen to it! Definitely one of my favourites this year now, I seriously think they outdid themselves in every way possible on that album. So I was stoked that they played a set so heavily geared towards it, especially both Woman songs! I was disappointed with Balance's mix too...I didn't realise they had 3 guitar players, but that is probably what drowned out most of the vocals. I was lucky to see them in Canberra because there wouldn't have been more than 150-200 people present, I'd imagine in Melbourne it would have been way bigger. Mayebshewill tour? That would be amazing. One of my most anticipated upcoming records, for sure!

I usually get from ebay or amazon.co.uk. I usually shop around and find the best shipping option. Shipping down under is expensive as hell, sometimes just as much as the actual record. It's usually still cheaper than buying in-store here though.

Sweet, I'll check it out. I really love TFA. Even considering picking it up on vinyl.

Oh wow, that sounds totally amazing. Not that I expected any less, given what I've heard about their performances...great looking setlist too, from what I know of it. Good to hear they will be back soon! The surgery actually went pretty well, no complications or anything, just a couple of days of feeling a bit crappy. // I know right, we have a pretty similar looking calendar haha. I would be stoked to live in Melbourne...Canberra gets bypassed pretty often (I'm stunned LD and Mis Sigs are bothering to come past). In two years though, I probably will be living in Melbourne! So hopefully if we're still jamming the same kind of music then we can check out some shows together.
