Ow...buh, sorry to hear that, hope you are well. Yeah those are some pretty great songs in those times. Used them pretty often myself when I was in "lovetroubles". Darkest Days and Never Dreamed we're quite for me too.

I'm pretty sure that I don't have the skills yet to start anything that resembles a band haha. Need alot more practice. Besides, it;s a bit hard with distance and all hahaha

Heeeey! I'm good, superbusy though. Just got a new job and with christmas around the corner, that means a lot of extra hours working. But it's fun, so I don't mind. Besides that a lot of guitarplaying actually, which takes up a lot of time as well. How is life over there?

Lots of ber is good too. Getting drunk for dime, that's my plan tonight, doenst matter how! Yeah it's 2 large shots of whiskey (seagrams and crown royal, but any whiskey will do, thats just how dime made it) with a little bit of coke. Yeah i've watched Global metal couple of times. Lots of other good documentaries as well though. Vulgar Videos, Headbangers Journey, Heavy metal Parking Lot, Lemmy, Heavy Metal; Louder than life and this one is cool too; Thrash 'til Death http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wE8aU86nH5Q

Mostly from my brother and sister though, my parents played horrible dutch music :p Hahaha who knows, i'm planning to travel alot the upcoming years if the money lets me. I love traveling. First trip coming up is Istanbul next year though, metalscene there is pretty awesome as well. Indonesia actually has been on my travel-bucketlist for years and years.

Yeah Sign of the Southern Cross sounds alot like down actually. But of a copy-cat, but ah well, it's good and we can never have too much down-like music. Yeah Second Helping is a really great album too. I'm a bit done with sweet home alabama, heard it a bit too much i'm afraid. But it's still a good song. Ahh oke :( Sucks that you are so far away from your old home. I have exactly the opposite, i live in my old hometown and want nothing more then too move somewhere else hehe Creedence, yeah they have alot of good music too. Good child-hood memories with that band. My older brother always listened to that when i was younger.

Gugun Blues Shelter is cool! Will listen to it a bit more upcoming days! Yeah indeed, Arizona Rivers is very spacey like planet caravan indeed. Love too listen to that kind of music when reading. ZZ top is awesome! Don't know that Deguello album very well to be honest, I will listen to it later. I mostly listen to Tres Hombres, Fandango and Eliminator album. Talking about a good song; Blue Jean Blues, fits in very well with the relaxing songs aswell. Talking about relaxing songs; Rainbow Eyes from Rainbow, beautiful song, listening too it now. What about Lynyrd Skynyrd, do you like that? One of my favorite bands, such good song, love it! Especially simple man, can't count how many time i played that song over the years haha. Lot of other good songs aswell, Free bird offcourse, Tuesdays gone, I never dreamed etc. So much good music, not enough time haha

Haha yup, Tatjana is the name, nice to "network socially" meet you too :p Yeah exodus rules, love them! Yeah force of habit is a great album, in my top 3 besides bonded by blood and fabulous disaster actually! Love Thrash bands with some groove influences; Overkill, Anthrax, Annihilator, Exhorder. But yeah blues and blues-influenced music is awesome. I love bands/artists like Gary Moore, ZZ top, Jeff Healey. Very relaxing laid-back music for me, perfect for relaxing. Country I like alot too, from the classic Johnny Cash and Hank Williams, but also Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pride & Glory. Rebel meets Rebel I listen alot too aswell lately, side-project of Dimebag, Vinnie, Rex with David Allan Coe, it's awesome. Especially Cherokee Cry and Cowboys do more dope, love that song haha

Hahahaha thnx, always nice to get referred to with an awesome Pantera song! Yeah heavy lord is pretty cool, although it's more doom/sludge then stoner but still oke, especially if you are into the crowbar-type music. Netherlands is more known for their death and heavy-metalbands. some are nice though. Hail of Bullets, Asphyx, Legion of the Damned, Thanatos. All pretty old and good if you like that genre. Unfortunately not alot people here who are into the whole NOLA/deep south metal (pantera, down, crowbar, COC etc.). But luckily there is internet and it's great to get in contact with people all over the world who have the same musical taste and get to know new bands and stuff. I will check the stuff out you linked. I'm not much into hardcore but who knows, i might like it! Hehehe yeah, free weed for everyone here, hail the leaf country :p Kinda strange that a country with legal weed doenst have alot of stoner bands huh? hahaha

Yeah Nola is the best, damn can't count how many times I played that album. My favorite songs are Stone the Crow, Eyes of the South and Lifer I think, but sooo many good song on that album it's hard to just pick a few favorites. I just hope that they will continue in the NOLA style for next EP but probably not since they won't to change styles for every EP. Hmm stoner bands from the netherlands. Not a lot actually. Stoner/sludge/southern isn't really a hot genre here unfortunately. there is one band that is kinda cool called Heave Lord http://www.last.fm/music/Heavy+Lord?ac=heavy+lord It's more sludgy/doom then stoner though, but they're are pretty cool. They split-up couple months back though :( A friend of mine plays in a pretty cool band though, very pantera-like, you might like them http://www.last.fm/music/Shotgun+Sludge On their myspace is some music of them.

Thye are both good, find it hard to compare them to be honest. Yeah I heard the purple album, it's oke but it doesn't come even close to the NOLA quality. The songs don't really stay stuck with me somehow. Only heard it couple times though, so maybe after some more listening it will grow on me. I'm curious what they will come up with for the next EP sinc ethey said they will make all EP's different styles.

Yeah Kill Devil Hill is indeed a new project/band of Rex Brown and Vinnie Appice (ex-black sabbath, heaven&hell etc). I think the split from down is permanent but not 100% sure. As far as I know he is done with Down and focusing on Kill Devil Hill at the moment and is replaced with Patrick Bruders from Crowbar. Ah well NOLA was made without rex and that is still one kick-ass album, so i'm not very worried. You should check kill devil hill out though, it's kinda cool!

yeah, of course. as everybody knows, Dime and Vince were big fans of van halen, kiss, this kind of stuff, you know, hard and glam metal. probably without Phil they could keep doing this kind of music with Pantera, which would be a fucking disgrace. thanks god they found Phil, haha.

hahaha absolutely. I'm a big fan of Phil. I usually listen to even those obscure projects like Christ Inversion - check it out, really good stuff - and Viking Crown. and, of course, his main bands. Down kicks ass, SJR is one of my favorite bands (sounds very crude and brutal. I love it) and Pantera, my favorite band ever and the heaviest band I've ever heard.
