Hi there, nice charts! I was wondering, where would you recommend starting in Erykah Badu's work? And do you have any recommendations for some good modern R&B?

Sampha's Process is a leap for him, I think. Haven't checked the rest you mentioned yet. I like the new stuff from Gabriel Garzón-Montano, Syd and Laura Marling. ;)

Aah that's such a shame from Last.FM! So you have to scrobble all your tracks manually one by one through Universal Scrobbler? ;-) I can tell you I'm so happy I have at least this pic back and that we finally have some more options (like deleting scrobbles), but Last.FM has a long way to go to get everything to an acceptable level! Can get used to the new design though and the yet missing features. I still see a lot of folks on Twitter rightly complaining about the new Last.FM to this day. Anyway, you were right that 'Like A Rose' from Ashley Monroe was even better than her new one, but of course Like A Rose is such a masterpiece which is hard to be outdone. Hope to catch a show of Ashley own day here in NL :)

Heey there! Good to hear I am not the only one who dislikes this layout. Even more, it's such a pity that so many great features have been gone, like events, forums, recommendations, I can keep on for ever listen them missing things. Sometimes I feel like deleting my profile, but I think I'll be around for some time, as I have discovered so much music right here and met so many good musical friends! Will you keep using Last.FM? Such fun that you also noticed my very old avatar, yeah, a picture I put on at the day I joined last.fm, so 5 years ago. I have changed it very often, but ever since the new 'layout' has been put online, this crap is back again. Even funnier that the profile pic can't be changed atm, haha, so me as a 12 year old with the pinky shirt will probably will be on there for a while.. All the best to the USA.

Hey! Didn't realize that Ashley had her new album out already! Sounds good on first listen, listening to the album now. A good combination of pop and classic country. To me it's different than her old work, this is kinda more extravert and catchy. She still got a unique melancholic touch to her songwriting. Talking about Kacey Musgraves btw, she finally has a new album out too. Public reviews ranging from a disappointment to very good. What do you think? Anyway I see you've got pretty much shows to attend :-) Looks like Seattle is the place to be. Enjoy your summer!

Hey, thanks for the recommendation! Della Mae sounds great. Makes me think about The Stray Birds, even though that band just has a slightly other sound. Ashley Monroe is fantastic! Her new single gets me also curious to her new album indeed. It sounds different, but as great her older work. Anyway, have been out of country music for a little time. Should listen more again this weekend :-) If you got more good stuff you run into, keep 'em coming! ;-)

Unfortunately I can't help you recommending some other albums from Gretchen Peters. I also only listened to Blackbirds, but I'll explore something on Spotify :) Maybe you btw like Lindi Ortega, Holly Williams or Rosanne Cash. Anyway, thanks for your fine recommendations! Haven't come round to listen to James McMurtry, so you definitely reminded me to do so. I see you will be visiting a concert of him. Have fun! :-)

Goldenheart? I've still only listened to it a couple of times. BlackHeart is really the one I've been listening to.

Hey! I want to show you Alex Page and the first EP “Deviance Disorder”: https://www.facebook.com/project.alexpage "Alex Page started working on music in 2013. Their first EP Deviance Disorder was released on September 30th, 2014. Its main purpose is to show the existing deviance in our society to its own high standard and the subsequent acceptance of that fact, which should lead into an inner state of peace. The music can be described as alternative and electronic with diverse influences.” Likes, downloads, shares and opinions are always welcomed :)

For the 1970's, I suggest Millie Jackson, Denise LaSalle, Ann Peebles, Carol Williams, Thelma Houston (she has many great songs aside from her biggest hit such as "You've Been Doing Wrong For So Long", "If It's The Last Thing I Do", "I'm Here Again", "Saturday Night, Sunday Morning", "Stealing In The Name of The Lord", etc.)

Sampha's Dual EP is suitable for listening as a whole. Should be a nice experience for you. // A few tracks on Avalanche are really amazing! I would like to mention another group called Owusu & Hannibal, which is my fave among all Robin Hannibal produced groups. // I share your opinions on that. I also think that each year is a wonderful time for discovering and rediscovering music though. :+)

Yeah, Sampha is quite decent, you probably know that he's featured in Drake's latest album Nothing Was the Same. He also appeared on SBTRKT's debut album, which Jessie Ware contributed her voice to as well. // I know Rhye, Robin Hannibal produced work with Milosh, I am only for track 1, 2, 3 and 9 now, others are forgettable. While another group Quadron which Robin involves in became one of my favourite since their flawless debut. // I am not very into The Weeknd's style from his acclaimed mixtapes on, maybe it is just a matter of first impression. I am a big fan of Frank Ocean. :+)

On R&B/Soul field, I like Sampha and Jose James. Both works are well produced and do impress me. What do you think of them? I saw you like Disclosure, which track do you prefer most?

I didn't find any point on the first half of the Suite IV, mainly because too many featured tracks let me down. Anyway, her innovation is worthy of recognition. The duet Primetime with Miguel is good but far from perfect. While I like her song with Esperanza Spalding more, they sounds great when singing together. :-> Suite II is a perfection to me, always gives me surprise when listening as a whole.

Don't you think too much collaboration is a bit distracted? Of course she did a good job this time. But I do believe she could have done it better. btw, I still like her previous stuff. :)

Hola, thanks for the friend request. :+) What do you think of Janelle Monáe's lastest album? I found I tend to Suite V more.
