So you are widely versed in electronic music and run a blog (which is quite good I might add). Congrats. I just don't see the point in taking a random stab at some entry level bro in the Jamie xx shoutbox for no reason other than to shit on someone for getting into music for the 'wrong reasons'. You'd think that someone with such a diverse taste in music would have better things to do with their time.

thank you too, nice conversation. but i just have to add one thing in response to your last sentence. i can understand that you dislike hyped and modern popular trends. but well, lets imagine there is a band that plays music you actually like, they arent that popular, rather unknown and underground. but suddenly after a lot of tours they get much more fans and become what some people would call mainstream. they are still having the same sound, eh? they still play the music that you liked. what i want to say is that even if an artist is mainstream, its still the same music theyd play when they were underground. mainstream or trend is just a stupid misleading word. it doesnt change anything about the artist himself.

lol im having an argue with some guy on youtube about exactly the same thing and he used the same argument, maybe its you. he also said the more "trendy" popular music is mostly profit-oriented. but whatever, you said harmonical music and unpopular music is the way to go. but that music is as often commercial as pop music. if music without feelings etc. is usually commercial, then please explain me why (to take an extreme example) most noise music is completely non-profit, i talk about harsh noise artists like merzbow or kylie minoise. these aren't really about harmony but then again at the same time they don't give a fuck about profit at all. at the same time there are tons of popular musicians who dont give a fuck about profit as well. imo you cant connect popularity or trendiness with being profitoriented. theres no connection. also if something trendy is replaced as you said, is it not trendy anymore then and ok for you to listen?

i wont read a whole book now only to respond to you but thanks for the suggestion! i have a very wide point of view. i listen to whatever i like and i dont care what it is called or whether some people like you constantly cry about it thinking theyre something better. well, please define "shitty" music. if you read books about the theory of music etc. you should know there is no good or bad music. music is something completely subjective. i hope you'll understand that some day.
