Nice charts! A lot of artist names I don't recognise. Would you have any recommendations for a fan of Robin Guthrie's guitar sound?

Hi there, many thanks for letting me know about the pre-meet for the Luna gig. Something came up for tonight and unfortunately I am going to miss them this eve. Shame, surely they will be good but I can't be in both places. I am going to subscribe to the blog updates in case Dean Wareham comes back soon and they repeat the pre-meet event. Enjoy the gig tonight and the rest of the weekend. Cheers. G

From the time of this comment, I take it you're not going to school either. It's fantastic 'cause I have all this new music to listen to. Although I plan on not going through them all too quickly to make them last. I had a feeling that was why. Damn privileged lead-singers. I don't think that Lady Gaga song is number one now, Lily Allen is. I saw her on GMTV today, didn't think much of it, miming as well. Yeah, MGMT are pretty interesting and catchy, but I always compare them to of Montreal, who are doing much more exciting things. I guess I just get put off by their following, aka most of the people in my year. Since when have the charts ever not been worth avoiding? Yeah it was! Mm, I think it's always been like that though. We just in general have very different personalities. The boys/Joey like to head-bang and attack each other, and we like to sit in a little circle and have a chat.

Excellent. I found it quite strange that they/he supported them. I wouldn't say they were similar at all. Well, yesterday I was round my friends and I think she was playing all the latest radio songs 'cause my other two friends seemed to know them too. I had to keep going "and who is this?" To which my friend exclaimed that I needed to live in the 21st century. I do actually listen mostly to new music, just not that kind of new music. That "Just Dance" song by Lady Gaga seems to be the one everyone is listening to. A lot of those types of electronic/dance attractive female artists are in. Cheesy male-yearning pop music such as Take That and The Script are still doing well. And then there's the hip NME bands like Kings of Leon, MGMT and The Killers which also get noticed. See you tomorrow?

Hey, I just stumbled upon your profile. You have quite the extensive taste! I am positive you would exceptionally enjoy The Microphones, Eric's Trip, and please get Low's Drum's and Guns and/or Curtain Hits the Cast, you won't be disappointed. I think this website should be more personal as far as recommendations go, you know? Any for me? Thanks, Ben

Yes I do. Hmm, I'd probably have to check out The New Pornographers first. I have one song by them, which I really like. Oh my god, yes, amazing prices. I found a (good) book in there for £2 the other month - £2! I wanted to see him at the Scala but it was 18+ and no-one would come with me. I really only like his newest album though. I've had a listen to a couple others but I don't like them as much. Grime and dubstep? That seems more interesting that what everyone listens to at my school, which is pretty much just anything played on the radio.

Well to be honest, technically it's that strange hyperactive boy's fault. Or maybe it's mine for lending it. Excellent, will your friend with two names also be there? That is so not encouraging. Everyone says that. I may have to buy some CDs on Sunday just to stop me from dying. I limit myself to only buying CDs from independent music shops 'cause I'm a nerd, and a total hypocrite 'cause my favourite shop is Fopp which technically isn't independent anymore. How exciting. Aha, when you said you liked shoegaze the first thing that came to my mind was M83. I love being able to mildly predict people's music tastes. Although there are a lot of names I have no clue on. I myself am quite predictable in music taste.

Ha, I couldn't care less about the umbrella by the way. My mother gave me another one. I bet that by the time I get it back, winter will be over. Will be nice to see you at the meet, but if you forget it you have no excuse. Medium? My computer says it's high. I haven't, only heard a couple songs from it. My new year's resolution is to not download anything illegally, otherwise I probably would've had it by now. Was going to go out and buy it last weekend, but I was sick. I see you like it?

Indeed. I want to elope with him! God, that album is worth so much more than £3, it is so awesome. I got it because I wanted that harpsichord song but it's all fantastic. And yeah I think the accordionist from Beirut is in A Hawk and a Hacksaw too. So go and listen!

This is from when I saw them: http://www.flickr.com/photos/crazybobbles/2947843315/ He is basically just a beautiful woman. So the Nina is a lesbian theory isn't hard to swallow. Lol. Also, I think I just found a picture of Jonsi from Sigur Ros and he has a mullet. Weird! I am really, really enjoying this Magnetic Fields album. I shall scour around for My Bloody Valentine. Oh and you should listen to Beirut. They were on my accordion playlist. I am certain you will like them.

I finally got hold of The Sunlandic Twins, it's making WWI literature bearable. I think I am falling in love with Kevin Barnes. It's the glitter, I seem to have a weakness. But yes, I do need to listen to more shoegaze. I am currently acquiring some of The Magnetic Fields after that playlist you made. I don't know if they are shoegaze or not, but they're awesome regardless. Shoegaze for n00bs, any recommendations?

Everyone is guilty of a little bit of facebook stalking. But we only have low compatibility! Quick, listen to more of Montreal! That or I'll have to start listening to shoegaze.
