I've got a job up there for a month, and then it's back down to Bristol for my final year of Uni. Exciting times. So how else have you been spending your time other than being ill?x

It...sounds like a phone ringtone. Completely takes me out of the song, and I think it will take a while to get back into it. I want the steel drums back! The rest of the album is superb though. I love the beefed up Fascination, and the majority of the sampler tracks sound much cleaner, bar ...Toy. Album of the year so far for me. Bravo Elly and Ben. x

Ok, so I'm halfway through, and it's amazing, but MY GOD, what have they done to ...Toy?! x

Gossip=Great. It's a much more cohesive album than their last one, and is a really easy listen. I still want La Roux though =[ x

I'm good thanks. Just got back from a festival, which was a lot of fun, but I'm soo tired now, haha. It's going to be really hard not to download the leak to be honest, but I hope I can do it =] x

Have you heard the samples of the La Roux album on iTunes? Marvelous. How are you?x

I'm usually a naughty downloader as well, but I physically buy albums by artists I really love. I still remember how excited I was when I bought Aerial by Kate Bush. It's all about having something to hold. That and the cover art for La Roux's album is gorgeous. I know what you mean about the key though, it can be a very difficult one to sing along with. The one song I'm probably most looking forward to is Cover My Eyes, which is a ballad, and she sings with a choir. The minute long clip I've heard is suitably epic. It just goes to show that she is very versatile as a vocalist. Do you know when it's officially released in the US? x

I have listened to it a few more times, and it seems to get better with every listen. I think I wasn't as impressed first time round because I expected an all guns blazing electropop gem. But like you say, it's a very easy album to listen to, and the lyrics are very good. I keep singing bits of Mathematics to myself, haha. As for La Roux, I CANNOT WAIT. However, I'm going to be good, and not download it at all. Instaed I'm going to wait and buy a physical copy. That will be a good day indeed. x

Yes! The Shake & Pop remix is what got me into the album too. It kept popping into my head at random moments for about a month after I got it. Also, I thought you'd like to know that Hands is at number 3 in the midweek album charts. Quite impressive =] x

I thought it was a bit excessive at the end. I felt it wrong to go from y'all to you guys. It's a Southern thing. lol.

Haha, thanks. Have you heard Not Now from the Illuminations EP? It's good enough to be on the album in my opinion. It's a mystery as to why it's not on there really. x

So I've given Hands a couple more plays, and it's really growing on me. it seems to flow really well, and is a very solid and polished album. I can see it being in my top 10 of the year if I'm honest. x

That and the fact that the video is HORRENDOUS. It was a very poor lead single choice, I would have released Stuck On Repeat, and the Remedy. Or just Remedy (if you can't tell, I happen to love that track =]) Following Victoria on Twitter (don't judge) she seems like a really nice, intelligent woman, who is really loving what she's doing. It's just a shame her output sometimes leaves me cold. That being said, I do like how unashamedly pop it is. x

Yeah, I totally agree with the 'old' tracks comment. The thing is, I intentionally stayed away from the leaked tracks for that very reason. My only touchstones were Stuck On Repeat, New In Town, and Magical. So it's disappointing that even after doing that I'm not as impressed by it as I feel I should/wanted to be. Like I said though, I'm going to give it a chance, in the hope that it will all fall into place. The poor charting of New In Town here in the UK is worrying though, and I do think that the fact it's taken SO long for her to release anything may hurt her chances of mainstream crossover, even though it is a solid pop album. It's all about La Roux for me though, and I'm getting ridiculously excited about the fact I'll have it in less than a month! I agree though, La Roux will be a boundary pushing album, one that will hope fully turn into more chart success for them.
