HiYa Raffy~The Mind Club was a local Sacramento band, that had a fairly large local following before they disbanded a few years back, and may well be the least played group ever on last.fm. They were masters of the acid jazz genre and well worth a listen if You are so moved. Please let me know what You think. Thanks https://www.last.fm/music/The+Mind+Club

The scenes were taken from his film, Fallen Angels which shares a distinct visual style and flair from his previous ones. I recommend seeing them specially these three films: In the Mood for Love (2001), Chungking Express (1996) and Happy Together (1997). These are some of his highly regarded films with themes of love and longing paired with dream-like sequences and sweeping tracking shots cinephiles would love. :)

Hey, good question. I follow a handful of music blogs/resources for newer releases but firstly, I have AOTY as a go-to guide and rating system; rateyourmusic.com for obscure records, lists, reviews and discussions of mainstream, non-mainstream and the underground albums; Metacritic for rating systems and various music reviews; Consequence of Sound, The 405, SputnikMusic, Pitchfork, NPR, Exclaim!, Northern Transmissions, The Needle Drop, The Guardian (for album reviews, upcoming artists, latest news, recommendations); musical blogspots such as opiumhum, wefuckinglovemusic, bodegapop, listentothis.info; online radio broadcasts such as KCRW, Tiny Desk, Giles Peterson, KEXP; Reddit (the app & subscribed to r/indieheads for latest music, recs, AMA, discussions.; BIRP (Blalock's Indie Rock Playlist), a monthly compendium of 100+ obscure tracks ranging from lo-fi, bedroom pop, Bandcamp artists; and lastly Spotify, mostly the recommendation playlist. Hope this helps! :)

Hi, I see you playing Slowdive again, did you know they were very influenced for Pygmalion by the last 2 albums by Talk Talk? I see you have played their first one, I can say they were a band who got better as they went on, to stop at their pinnacle Laughing Stock. Mark Hollis, who's band Talk Talk really was, and died recently, was to make one more (untitled) solo album, before quitting the music scene altogether.

Hello there fastlane01, I love Slowdive and played them almost every day. I have read in an article in the past about Neil talking about Talk Talk and their albums like Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock as major influences for their sound in Pgymalion especially the experimental, organic sound which for me is an aural experience. I've also came across the passing of Mark Hollis recently which is a massive loss to the music industry but I wasn't aware of him making another solo record.

Hello! Thanks for you recommendations the other day. I've been listening Car Seat Headrest lately, they became my new favorite artist. Actually, I can't relate to any song of Twin Fantasy because I'm not gay-furry, but I haven't found a big problem dealing with it. And the only way I relate on this album is with the emotional/relationship thing. I used to think and feel the same way as Will but with a girl. Some of the lyrics are totally relable to that past stuff, but now, they're just lyrics haha. Just like Currents from Tame Impala, the same feeling as Twin Fantasy. The difference between Tame Impala and CSH is that I discovered Tame Impala first.

raffy_rillo
Hello there, you're welcome, glad you liked it! I first encountered Car Seat Headrest through their album, Teens of Denial (which was super good) and followed through their other releases. Last year's Twin Fantasy was an indie rock epic, and I would agree with you in regards to its theme, from which I could point as unrequited love through a perspective of a young Will. What I love about this album was the ambition and scope of its tracks and how they embraced their influences in each tracks. The record captures such wit, cynicism and eye for detail in what it feels to be heartbroken for the first time. I could confidently say this is their strongest album record to date. It has this raw, live feel to it that is so well balanced with energetic instrumentation and sharp lyrics. Pretty much the same as that feeling when we we young. Tame Impala's Currents are worth mentioning since that is also the band's most poppy and experimental work to date.
