Holy hell you sure can write a ton. You've got some great reviews though. Not sure how you find the time to do so many, I struggle with putting out a few reviews a month, but keep it up!

Man, Preterite are so damn good, really really inspired stuff here! Seems like I've missed my opportunity to pre-order Horseback/Pyramisd (damn it!), but now I'm so curious about TRVTH. I could here the entire B-side like a dozen of times, but I'm still curious about the drone A-side. How is it?

Definetly, Crooked Necks's LP it's a grower! I love the sound grain of the production, it's so melancholic! Pyramids with Nadja is soul touching too. Have you heared some of the songs from CoO's "Armon Keitaalla"(http://soundcloud.com/kuunpalvelus)? It's more black metal oriented stuff, and it's SO nice! check it out, you won't regret it! and btw, "Armon Keitaalla" is going to be reissued! >>http://kuunpalvelus.awardspace.info/

It's my first "becoming-fan-of-a-label" thing, and I'm really excited. No, I haven't heard "Alright is exactly what it isn't", but I've ordered it a week ago: somehow, the mighty Brooklyn Vegan made it possible to stream one track ("Taste the sounds") and... well, it just confirms how GOOD stuff it is. I love how minimalistic it is. I'm really looking forward on this one. Another HMB release I've ordered is Eleven fingers: I still did not enjoy it at its fullest, but I can see by far how utterly awe-inspiring it is! What do you think about Pyramids album, the one with the weird deers on the cover? Yesterday I've heard two tracks and is really catchy!

Great interview, he throws out a lot of new french black metal acts! and yeah, Aelter and Servile Sect are sold out but still available if you search toughly enough, and racionable priced! Sure it's a harsh task carrying out an underground label in these days, but I can only expect all the good from this guy: Crooked Necks, CoO and Servile Sect in the same year, it's pretty pretty sick! I'm thinking about pre-ordering Pyramids/Horseback: seems like only the name speak volumes!

Well to be honest the packaging was really nice, as I would expect from HMB. But it was a poor design. Each CD came in sleeves which fit so snugly into the box that I had to pry them out with a knife, slightly ripping 2 of the sleeves. And one of the CDs had a small scratch across it, while the others had minor removable marks/dust etc. All in all I'm not too displeased considering the price and there really wasn't any damage to the quality of the music (the scratch was inaudible). I just expected better from HMB. Hopefully this was a fluke :)

I feel the same way. Its a shame that people would actually do that instead of showing courtesy to the artists. My problem is my vinyl player is 30+ years old and I want a new, 21st century one thats up to date on the technology lol

It would be cool if HMB allowed free digital downloads for those who buy their vinyls.

What's Kentucky? Is it the other album being released this year in addition to Social Disservices?

I agree this is the most interesting and organized Panopticon has ever been. The marriage among genres really works whereas in the past it has sometimes seemed forced (i.e. the bluegrass inclusions). This material is just stunning. And you're right about the drums. They still retain that organic sound that I love but they've sunken much farther into the mix, which works really well with thus style of music.

Yeah I got both splits in the mail last week. It's fuckin fantastic. It was nice to hear WWW going back to their pre-Shift sound, so to speak. I liked shift but it didnt do it for me like their previous material did. And the panopticon portion was fantastic as is to be expected. The shoegazy post-rock vibe was interesting and very well executed I thought. What did you think?

Key, if you didn't already know, is a weird blend of post-punk and neofolk. I've only heard the demo trilogy but HB sells their 2 CDs which I plan on buying at some point. The demos are pretty sweet. Very lo-fi. You can download them at 320 kbps at the Dreamo Amnesty blog. (another fantastic blog btw)

That's says a lot considering the praise you and others gave CoO. I'm excited to hear it. Handmade Birds is such a fantastic label. I wanna buy that vinyl set by Key as well.

I was going to order that as well but money was tight. I'll probably order it sometime next week or hopefully sooner. I will DIE if that sells out tho.
