Hi Sarah how are you? just wondered if the new Sigur Ros is hitting the spot with you? I have drifted apart from them a bit but people are saying its loud and epic.. maybe I should reaquaint myself :)

I'm good thanks hope all is well with you? have you been to any outstanding gigs lately?

Hi Sarah did you go to the Robin Guthrie show in the end? his show I saw was superb.

haha that's too true! you should either find a last.fm buddy to go with, or bite the bullet and go on your own.. you'll only regret it!! actually, could you recommend me some Cocteau Twins.. I've got Victorialand and I like it a bit, however is there anything in their catalogue that's a bit gritter and darker maybe?

angelsighs
thanks, i'll check them out then! gigswise the big one coming up is MBV I guess.. I'm not a huge fanboy or anything but I've never seen them live before. also there's a double headliner of Robin Guthrie and Mark Gardener- not sure if the Ride songs will work without all the wonderful noise but should be interesting.. maybe you should check out their London show?

belated Happy New Year to you too! ah nice one.. for some reason I've gone off Sigur Ros a bit lately, no idea why.. I didn't like the last album so much. my favourite is () when they were all moody and dark.. maybe I should give the new album a try? and I've not heard of Lower Natives.. looking at my charts, do you think I would like them? I've been doing pretty well with gigs myself lately too, went to a lot last year and this year is shaping up pretty good too :)

Our compatibility is SUPER. In fact, Nada Surf is the only act in your top 15 that I don't have in my library. Can you recommend the best place to start with them?

ha well i'm not convinced by Eels yet to be honest... they came highly recommended to me but haven't been blown away yet.. gonna keep trying :)

ah yes that can be the problem can't it.. rallying enough friends to go along with. I don't mind going to small local gigs on my own but big festivally things are different. the day ticket was about £60, which is worth it i think. I think we will try and make a nice big day of it.. kinda wish it was at Minehead to get the full ATP experience though :) hope you manage to make it!

hi how are you? so I caved in and got my ATP I'll Be Your Mirror ticket.. just the Mogwai day.. them and Dirty Three as must sees, Codeine and Mudhoney will also be good, anyone else a bonus! you decided whether you're going yet?

haha immense is the word.. funnily enough i saw them live a few years back and although it was good this years show was another level.. just in terms of the sheer sound quality it was pristine, but also nice and loud. setlist also lots of great stuff from new album. they didn't play Helicon but you can't have everything :)

yeah i like it when unique stuff happens at gigs- as long as it doesn't turn it into too much of a shambles!! :) i'm kind of the wrong person to ask for albums of the year as i buy a lot of back catalogue and with newer stuff i'm usually a year or so behind everyone... having said that , I reckon Mogwai is my fave of this years lot.. it was a proper return to form and with much better production than their last couple which sounded a bit sterile. awesome gig earlier in the year too

hey sar, it has definately been too long, we need a catch-up! why is it so ridiculously hard to keep in touch in london?! yes new m83 is a lush album. back in swansea over xmas? x

yeah I'll definitely be keeping an eye on I'll Be Your Mirror... thing is London isn't particularly easy to nip to for me lol. i do like the fact its a good mixture of some seriously heavy music and some slowcore n stuff too. not been to too many gigs lately really, but funnily enough did go to see Yuck the other week.. it was really good, but the PA broke after the first song and they had to stop to fix it! it was weird though, you could still hear all the instruments balanced nicely but just from their amps rather than the PA! so as the year draws to a close, what would you say was your album of the year?

Hi mate, i'm not too bad thanks.. how are you doing? I see you're still going to loads of gigs... lucky you. I'm especially jealous of I'll Be Your Mirror.. a great lineup already and definitely one to watch for me. who are you particularly looking forward to on that lineup?

I'm really liking Big Fat World on my first listen - great shout. I see you've got a few plays of both Bonobo and Frightened Rabbit... you should listen to them more, especially Black Sands its brilliant album. At the moment i'm loving Lucy Rose - she's adorable! How was Death Cab the other week? Gutted I didn't see them...
