Ah see this is interesting. I know a lot of these bands. I guess in my mind I just classify some of them as brutal death metal or old school death metal. I own all the albums of Abated Mass of Flesh, Broken Flesh, Revulsed, Tortured Conscience, and Krig on CD. I have one Resurrected Divinity CD. I've got two Dehumanize albums and two Blood Thirsty albums on CD. There are a couple of Abated Mass of Flesh side projects on the list, although I've never really listened much to them. Encryptor is cool, I've got 3 of their CDs. I've heard of some bands like Cardiac Rupture and Cleansing of the Temple but never really listened to them. But there are some bands I've never heard before that I will check out. Thanks for sharing.

yes i knew you would know a few (not this many lol). and i admit some bands are closer to just death metal (e.g. krig, and cleansing of the temple is straight up deathcore but their ep is called slam 4 the lamb so i give them a pass) also, how big is your collection, you seem to have TONS of cds. also i am super duper jealous of your Dehumanize cds, thats like my favorite christian slam band of all time (theyre definitely slam and not bdm) and cardiac rupture is one of the most polished and unique bands on that list, one of my top favs, definitely listen. i also didnt know resurrected Divinity sold cds 👀

Yeah Krig is one of my favorite death metal bands. I have a very large CD collection (it's a hobby of mine). I essentially don't buy many digital albums, just physical media. I do use Spotify to stream some stuff I don't own or to check out new bands, but otherwise I own everything I listen to. It's very important to me to support bands by buying their music. The two Dehumanize CDs I have are Discography and Malum, Scelesto, Ferox. I believe I picked them up from the Vision of God Records store. The Resurrected Divinity CD (Lycanthropy II) I have is their most recent one. They recently signed to Broken Curfew Records. I don't know if they have any of their other albums on physical media, as they're a fairly new band for me. I will check out Cardiac Rupture.

Actually, I don't own the first album (Natural Songbirth) now that I look at my music library. Some fan I am. I think it was difficult to track down (long out of print). I need to listen to it again, as it's been forever. My favorite albums are The Harrowing of Hell and A Lament. I don't think the band has officially broken up, but it's been a long time since we've had new music, which is never a good sign.

That's a tough one. They are all really good. I think I'd have to go with Children of Fire. I have the most emotional connection with that one, and "Hush Yael" might be their finest composition. My most consistently played Oh, Sleeper song recently is "Fissure." It's an amazing song. Which album is your favorite?

hush Yael is an amazing song fr. my fav album is bloodied / unbowed. decimation & burial was the first song i heard from them, and is now (and forever) my favorite. everything they have ever released has been amazing though

I enjoy the band, but the music is very abrasive and dissonant, so I have to be in the right mood. I guess the same goes for a lot of black metal unless it is more melodic. Some of the songs by Skald in Veum are pretty catchy. I hope they release more music!

Last.fm is kind of unfair to those who enjoy genres with longer songs (stuff like prog, doom, atmospheric black metal, and ambient). I'm listening to 20+ minute tracks and they only count as one scrobble!!!

What's unfair about that? And why do you even care? This is not a competition.

You know, if you don't want people to challenge your bad takes, simply don't post them publicly for everyone to see. It's actually that simple. But I'd still like to know why you consider the system that has been used for over 20 years to be "unfair".

Having a bad day? It's merely my opinion, and I damn well will post whatever I want on my own page. You commented on my shout about an album on another page, came here, and disagreed with what I posted. That's fine -- but also ironic, seeing as you seemed to express the value in sharing an opinion on the other comment. I won't be replying to any more of your shouts. A troll like you is not worth my time.

Very nice! I don't collect cassettes, but I got my Omni double album on CD and my T-shirt preorder before Christmas. Pt. 2 is just as good as Pt. 1!

I actually really enjoyed it! I'm not the hugest Megadeth fan but they definitely hit the spot if I'm in a certain mood. What did you think and what is your favourite?

I thought the album was pretty good overall, but a bit inconsistent. I really like the album finisher "We'll Be Back."

I'm loving it! I'm not sure where it ranks in their discography (it would be very hard to displace Dichotomy or Terminate Damnation) but it's very solid. "The Hollow" is my favorite track so far.

greetings from Moldova, Matthew. sorry for not replying right away. been swamped... with all these COVID hysteria and whatnot.. no daycare/kindergarten, so kids are always at home.. barely can work with these two jumping around and screaming and whatnot!? don't get me wrong, though, it's fun.. but i guess i'm getting "too old" for this stuff, y'know.. otherwise, doing well. hoping for the worldwide situation with this virus to change for the better, the sooner the better.. as for metal and music in general, it keeps me afloat and sane (dare i say), along with my faith in the One Who holds everything in His hands!

I think people listen to a lot less music than they used to. And nobody sits at their computer anymore (except at work). A lot of things that we used to do are gone.... remember AOL Instant Messenger? All the time we wasted on that..... now it's dead and gone. I heard that teenagers these days aren't even using Facebook.

I've been working my way through Ecclesiastes. There is a ton of good stuff in there. I've been reading on Biblegateway.com, which has tons of translations. I'll read a passage in a couple translations to get a good picture of what it's saying. My favorites are NIV, NKJV, and NLT.

Interesting study. I haven't read that book in a while, but I do remember it was unique. Lots of doom and gloom but with wisdom and advice sprinkled over the top. Job has always been one of my favorite books, which has some similar themes. I never used AOL much, but I see what you're saying about Facebook. Perhaps one day it will just die like Myspace, but I'm not sure. My primary use out of it is to get band news lol.

Yes, I keep hoping to hear an announcement from them, because if their second album is half as good as the first it will mean a whole album of new excellent music in my library.
