Wow, been ages huh. Since your boycott of the FB, things have been rather quiet between us (gasp).. But I hope you're alright and had a nice week away. In 2 weeks I'm finally heading your direction, looking forward! I see you've also discovered Ramona Falls and The Longcut. Yes yes yes, yes?

HAHA! Oh.. and here was me thinking they had the perfect friendship. Whoever had thought Winnie would be so passive-aggressive! But I'm glad you cleared the whole kindergarten concept out for me, cos there's absolutely nothing compulsory about the Danish ones (or else I'm seriously lacking a vital part of my education). It's typically attended from age 3-5 or 6, whenever the kid starts school (usually 6, but some parents think their children prodigies and send them off at 5). I watched Oprah yesterday where she had a children's psychologist in who mentioned that at age 6 we're practically the person we're going to be for the rest of our lives. Of course you'll learn new stuff, but the basics are all settled - the personality, how you interact with other people etc. Pretty amazing how the mind works..

I was never into Beatrix Potter (or rather, I was never introduced to her, and when I discovered she even existed at 17, I think my time had passed) - I guess she's a legend for all children growing up in the English-speaking part of the world, though? And to add to my childhood shortcomings, I never went to kindergarten, either (my former boss would claim that that is the reason why I'm so stubborn and insisting on doing everything myself). Do they actually grow vegetable gardens?? Phew, look at all the stuff I missed out on...

How cool is that. Vegetable garden. Been planting anything nice? I can totally imagine you with a big straw hat (think Blixen/Hemingway), digging the mould, talking to the seeds, having every vegetable row perfectly lined (think Rabbit of Winnie the Pooh). Haha. But must be sort of meditative though? When seeing my parents' big garden I always wish I had more of an interest in green stuff. I'm just more interested in eating whatever comes out of the hard work :-b Sounds good w/ Peter Broderick btw! My friend's doing her best to talk me into going to the gig with him in Berlin in June.. mighty tempting!

Oh yes. I think I've forgotten to mention that I have a small obsession with Peter Broderick... I have Home and Float and Docile 10" which I could just listen to all the time. That music is just too lovely for this world. Sadly I missed the 10 Duets release on Boomkat, so if you could work something out, that'd be amazing! I love you ;)

Thanks :) Borrowed the Animal Collective album from the "pending" (awaiting library system registration) shelf yesterday and put it on. Diverse! Although I think it'll take some getting used to - for me anyway. Tricky. On one hand I'm so picky about music, and on the other I'm totally easy to win over, if the right notes are being played. Oh and I've got a spare ticket for Andrew Bird in Copenhagen in May if you care to join me ;)

My very own comic! :D I didn't know much of C+H actually, except for the occasional screendump on Digg or wherever. But now I'm starting to see the two of us like these matchstick people (or maybe a cross between them and the XKCD characters), having Calvin & Hobbes-like conversations.. Vue: Planet Earth. Magnifying glass zooms in on NJ and Odense. Two characters sitting in each their zoom frame. Conversation: "I need help on my homework. What's a pronoun?" - "A noun that has lost its amateur status." - "Maybe I can get a point for originality."

Or, or.. "the height of way-too-muchery" (quote: Family Guy). Hehe. Well, I'd never hold rationality against anyone. Seek in others what you lack yourself eh :-b I don't think "beer gut jazz" would ever make it as a genre though.. but it's a mix of both; the former living room jazz jams played by and for men in their 40s. Something you'd hear at a village fair in the summer.

Humm yeah.. you gotta pull yourself together to see the '500' mark on my shoutbox count anytime soon ;) 461 is the right one. You sure you weren't looking at the used characters count?? I'm not sure if I "get" jazz. But I'm intrigued. Especially after having listened a lot to Flying Lotus and J Dilla/Madlib. I'm liking the fusion of hiphop and jazz. Very nice for quiet evenings.

Who's to say it isn't?? ;) I think I've been through my fair share of media players, too. Last year I peaked at having installed 7 different ones at the same time. But I agree regarding FB2k - it really is the best open-source player around. A friend did recommend Songbirdnest to me, but haven't got round to trying it out yet...

Yeah, I'm definitely warming up to FR. Nice sounds. Funny with Paavoharju.. perhaps you've listened to them through one of the last.fm radios?? I keep meaning to update my Daytum but I'm still not totally sure what to count (mostly cos, well.. I forget it). Could turn into another Wordie kinda site. But sure, it's also quite interesting, and definitely another approach to showing the world what you're up to.

Embarrassingly, I didn't know there was a Playground till you led my attention there. Last.fm equivalent to Google Labs eh? I'm on a music binge tonight. Borrowed some CDs with me home from the library - then bought a stack of dubstep vinyls (long overdue), and then downloaded some albums from the online music library. I think you'd be into Paavoharju, which I bought as MP3 on a bit of a whim but I think could turn into one of those haunting albums you can't let go of again. DJ/rupture described them as sounding "the way memory feels". And they are just that cryptic. Oh and to my utter horror, I've just found out, that last year Frightened Rabbit played at this small indie festival I go to every year! Only I didn't go that day cos "there was no one to see". Shame on me. I kick my 2008 self in the rear.
