Strangely, I don't believe I have. I really should, considering how much I enjoy Celine and Julie. Which ones do you recommend?

Oh there is a movie still on your page. It kind of resembles a young bellucci with short blond hair. I assumed it was her. I am certainly a truffaut fan. I have seen most of his films. Two english girls is his most underrated. It is in the mold of a rohmer fim but with more technique in it. What kind of films are you watching these days?.

Do you have a Mubi profile? I see someone mentioned it in the comments below. Here's mine if you want to be friends on there as well :) http://mubi.com/users/17157

I certainly know what you mean. I feel like such an idiot compared to all the cinephiles on mubi! I find it difficult to balance all the films I want to see/rewatch, all the music I like to listen to, books I want to read, school, and life in general! There just isn't enough time in the day. I'm also just breaking myself into Denis' filmography - Trouble Every Day and Nenette and Boni are actually the only two I've seen. I'm dying to watch U.S. Go Home though. Tonight I'm planning on watching John Huston's Freud from 1962. It looks like it should be quite interesting.

The Departed was a fantastic film, absolutely. The Brown Bunny is extremely divisive for a reason; it's demanding and sparse and, at times, downright unpleasant. Nevertheless, I think all of the alienation caused by that film is artistically motivated. In terms of capturing very troublesome emotions and themes, it is second to nothing. I am a huge fan of Vincent Gallo's work in general. Tetro may be my favorite film of the 2000s. I agree with you on Trouble Every Day. What an unforgettable film! Have you seen Nenette and Boni? That's a great piece of work as well.

I also liked Cyrus. My favorite film of 2010 is definitely Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island. Have you seen it yet? I thought it was masterfully made in all areas. I know I'm in the minority, but I think Scorsese's work with DiCaprio has been some of the most exciting and brilliant of his career. As for all-time favorites, I also have lots... I love Mike Leigh's Naked, On the Waterfront, Last Tango in Paris, Ingmar Bergman's Scenes from a Marriage, Buffalo '66 and The Brown Bunny... the list goes on.

No problem. I've never attended film school, but my brother (who I co-directed The Coldest Months with) is getting a degree in television production with a major in photography. I'm getting my bachelor of arts degree in English, and then I'll probably go into journalism or education. Are you in film school?

Great choices; Le Feu Follet is a very, very special film. I should really watch that again... I've been acting in local films for five years, and I've written two screenplays. The Coldest Months is my first time co-directing a feature, but I intend on pursuing more projects in the future. Have you worked on any films yourself?

Looks like you and I have a lot of the same music in common... How very cool is that! I was looking at your page to get some recommendations of other artists I might like (since you already have excellent taste!). I'm new to using this site, so still figuring it out. Cheers!

ah oui, je sais bien mon cinéma. ^^ c'est le sujet de ma thèse doctorale, alors... & yes, i've seen denis' White Material. it's sensual, wandering, & hypnotic, as is her cinema, but so much more overtly political than usual. it's intense. allez, bonne écoute!

yes, "Surveillance", is by Christine Lynch. i found it quite engaging. the ending is ominous as i didn't know what to think. however it is better than the alternative ending offered in the special features. and no i haven't gone through Rohmer's films yet. i'll check out your suggestion if Netflix has it and/or anything else by him. i'd love to know your thoughts on "El Cortez". i found it to be a tidy thriller for a Sunday afternoon.

i've watched a few things that might pique your interest. last week, Godard's "Made in the U.S.A." touched me deeply. the American film, "Surveillance" and the British movie "The Small Back Room" held my interest and still have me thinking. do you listen to !!! ? if not, you should. what have you been watching?

thanks for the request. that is some "super" compatibility we have - if I counted correctly, we share no less than eight artists in our top thirty. :-)
