fuck thats so sweet youve seen both of those films!! which other obscure indie films have you seen? yeah i'd probably even throw in bucket list lmao jk. agreed! hmm they are probably completely obsolete in america but because netflix and such aren't available yet in south africa, dvd stores here are still quite popular. yeah i'd honestly like to be the real-life version of john cusack in high fidelity haha

i think its extraordinary tbh. very much like kids if you've ever seen that or tarnation. yeah its really good. true, true. plus it isn't a over-dramatized spiel. hah yes - the struggle. good point. i did think he was great in one flew over the cuckoo's nest tho too. yeah thanks! i guess its part and parcel of life to feel uninspired and just devoid of any inclination to do shit. same, im in the middle of senior year atm and have never had a job before. theres only like 2 places to work in my area (both dvd rental stores) and both never came back to me after i submitted applications. i'd really like to work in a record store or something along those lines ideally

yeah i showed my friend the first 10 minutes of gummo and he was like "wtf is wrong with you why are you watching this shit". yeah i guess it polarizes opinion because (imo) it bears some parallels with movies like 22 jump street and the like. yeah same. i've only watched down by law which was pretty cool so i'm planning to look into more indie films. i want to watch the squid and the whale but i just dont have time :((( yeah its awesome. obviously because its - one - a kubrick film and - two - with jack nicholson perfecting the unhinged psycho role to a t. hmm i've actually gone out of everything i "used" to enjoy tbh. just feels like a waste of time trying to sit through a movie or listen intently to an album. anyway do you have a job or something to keep you occupied?

Yeah, having fond feelings attached to music, and then revisiting the music after a while can certainly be great. I shall definitely let you know what I think of Tons once I listen to them. And you should definitely play some when we jam on plug.dj. When are you typically free? Yeah there's certainly a solid amount of musical projects from those guys. Yeah, maybe Keepaway will reunite and make more tunes. Or maybe the members are in different bands that kickass. I'll have to do some research.

Yeah breaks are certainly nice. Once you come back to a band and it's fresh, it's super nice. I'll check those Tons albums out. I like pscyh, so I'll have to look into those other artists at some point. I still need to listen to Beards, Wives, Denim (I think I listened to it once.) Yeah, Delorean Highway is pretty cool and Jay seems like a pretty talented musician in his own right, as you said. The whole Tame/Pond troupe seems to make pretty cool music. Keepaway hasn't released anything since Black Flute I believe, in 2012. I don't even know if they are still together. Btw, we should totally jam some tunes sometime on that website I mentioned earlier (plug.dj). You can listen to music online with others, and it's a lot of fun. Lemme know if you're interested.

That's cool. I'm sure it's nice to hear the black metal tunes after a long break. And after taking a break from that sound it must sound very fresh. I like unconventional music, so I'll have to check Tonstartssbandht out. Where would you recommend starting with them? I haven't heard of any of the artists you've mentioned unfortunately, but they sound very interesting at least. What type of music are they? Yeah, Pond's latest is pretty cool. The only album by them that I really know. I've also been checking out Jay Watson's project, Gum, which is pretty cool. Yeah, I've really been enjoying the Baby Style EP by Keepaway. Yeah, thanks. And it's nice to hear that you seem to be doing well...as well.

Ah, it's fun to do that. Take a trip down memory lane and what not. Which artists have you been going back to? Tonstartssbandht, I have heard of them. But only because someone on plug.dj (a site where you can listen to music with other people) played them. I don't even remember what they sounded like. But it's a cool band name lol. Any new artists you've been checking out? I'm doing alright. Just been keeping busy with work. Can't really complain. Enjoying the new artists I've been checking out (Pond, Yo La Tengo, Keepaway).

I've listened a bit to Death. I like a few songs. Yeah, I thought they did a good job with 'Her.' But it certainly is a bit of a polarizing topic. Still, unique in a good way, at least IMO. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the Cloudkicker song. The background to Cloudkicker is actually really cool. Basically, it's a one man project. This guy is an airline pilot for Delta, apparently, and he just makes music out of his house in his free time and releases it on Bandcamp for free. He actually toured last year with a few fairly known metal bands (TesseracT and Intronaut, with Intronaut also serving as his band) and I was lucky enough to see it. And he played You and Yours live, which was amazing. I definitely recommend his stuff. His earlier stuff is heavier, but I think you'd really enjoy his 'Let Yourself Be Huge' EP, which is where You and Yours comes from. Additionally, his album Fade isn't terribly heavy from what I remember.
