Playing once a week sounds like a great opportunity to have fun. I don't really "feel" the Star Wars, but I can imagine how much these things cost (actually, I've checked) . I used to play the so called real RPG (Warhammer), where you only need the rule book, and various kinds of dice, Game Master, players, and a lot of imagination, wit, luck, time, food and coffee (or yerba mate). And you can play 24/7. The longest I played was 9 hours. I was exhausted after the game and dead as a dodo (my character was killed by deathly skeletons, what a failure!). As for Stalin's Monument game, it's similar to Monopoly, but the rules are different. Don't worry that you wouldn't understand the absurdities. Poles 15 ys younger than me don't understand those times either!

Some soothing sounds popped up. Not bad. A board game, cool! I have a few at home, mostly related to fantasy. But my favorite one is Budujemy Pomnik Stalina" (We are building Stalin's Monument). It depicts the absurdities of living in a communist country (namely People's Republic of Poland of the past era) and it's funny. Cheers!

Hi J! Glad you liked. I've been on a sort of hiatus from last.fm lately. Not really intentional, but I haven't been here much of late. Yes, we are preparing for a trip down to South Padre, so I need to get some music in line for that... and I have tons of new music flagged for revisiting.

....I guess it's been awhile. Ha. We live in the Carolina's now. But thanks for the snow ball fight. I remember those posts..Covid almost got me, I 'm still here after all. Long Covid is what they called it. Somehow I found a way to beat it. Hope all is well with you and your family. Spring is here, Summer is not far off. Be safe out there. :)

Been enjoying the season here too. After last winter, I’ve not been minding one bit that it’s felt more like Spring or Summer even. Can’t quite get used to having Christmas crowds & traffic back in full swing. Just in last year’s mind-set or something. I dunno. ☺️ But, you’re right, it has been fun! Only got one more small shop to do though & then I’m done. Haven’t gotten to do much listening the last week. Next week - I’m jamming!! 😁🎶🎵🎶🎵 ~ You got any big plans for the holidays? Wish ya’all a great one!!! 🎄🎅🏻

Ha! yyyYUP. I’m still holding out hope for favorite features to come back too. ☺️ Trying very hard, once & for all, to resurrect my own page/library. Testing out Subscription for a month. Definitely helped the scrobbling some. Spotify is still a smidgen Spotty as usual. Apple with QuietScrobb is doing pretty good though! Still have to kind of goose it along, but better than nuffin’. LOL Hope you’re having a nice weekend so far!

Hi Jacobi! - Yep, between the two of us, we only have 60,000K + artists. I'd say there will be times we are not compatible...

Hi, thanks S! I thought it would never happen after I reached 20K... but here I am, a few years later at 30K. I've been completely exploring the axe-women of the world lately. There are some outstanding female guitarists out there I didn't even know of. That Ally Venable (along with many others) has some big time talent. She is touring in Germany right now. The bluesy rock these girls play is my sister's favorite kind of music... so I've sent her some music.... and she loves it ;)

I've looked at my top artists, they are almost only men. I once went to an EBM gig. The testosterone almost knocked me off my feet.... I mean, literally, because male Poles can really be crazy at a concert, not paying any attention to small women that are standing on their trajectory. ;-)

At an EBM concert? yes, I can imagine. With any kind of rock, I usually prefer male fronted bands, but the ladies I have been listening to lately are changing that.

https://www.last.fm/pl/user/Valaya/playlists/12066633 I see that Last.fm enables a transfer of playlists from Spotify and YT into Last.fm. Here's a list of my favorites from 2020. I wonder if it works for a non-Spotify user. Could you check it for me? Thank you for liking my Radio. :)

That is great news, maybe the news I needed to tip the scales on whether I go the subscription route. Now if I could only get my old playlists back ;) Getting rid of the adds was almost enough to get me to subscribe, but this feature might do it. I used to play other peoples playlists quite often. Its fun to see what other people are cooking. Thanks for the tip, I appreciate it! Have a good day!

,,,I made it back. That nasty virus got me late July, early August. Holy bejesus, I hope they find a vaccine for this. We moved out of New York, now living in North Carolina by the coast in a quiet nobody town away from the noise. It's rather nice. Just wanted to say hey, October is here at last. :)

Happy 10th scrobbling anniversary today! ... How quick time pulled ahead by listening to your 28.3k bands... What are you fond of most about lastfm at the moment ( and if you still remember, what did you like when you joined a decade ago)? ... P.S. I devote this song (e.g. available on tidal) to this birthday of yours: ... the term "on" in Turkish means: 10 :-) ... genre: experimental/minimal -> from album ("violin edition (album #1)"): ... 'On' (with 144 beats per minute) ... https://www.last.fm/music/Erkan+Y%C4%B1lmaz/_/on ... btw: We now have to wear masks when shopping, driving bus etc. here in Germany... Is this similar at your place, Jeff ?

...and I didn't log on the day of my 10th aniversary. Hi!, thanks for the message. So my favorite feature of last.fm is the similar artist lists that can be generated. I'm not one to listen to the same band over and over. I'm always hunting for new bands within the scope of music I like. When I joined a decade ago there was a social side to last.fm. A feature that is sorely missed by most who joined long enough ago to experience it. I also miss being able to customize my own page. There has been a lot of "fun" removed from last.fm. The site still delivers music, yes. No complaints there. But I miss a lot of the groups I was in and many of the friends I made here have left or do not frequent the site any more because of the changes. It's a little sad. In the US, different communities have different guidelines but yes, when in public, shopping or taking mass transit, masks are typically required. Whether or not that is enforced is another matter. Cheers!

Oh hi. How are you? It's good to know. Mines not quite as impressive as yours, I tried keeping up long ago but eh, love all of our combined tastes too. I listen to Merrick's music often too, like now. Keeps me sane in an insane world. Never knew the book 1984 was actually a manual someone would try and use...Things are getting scary. Thanks for still being here. :) Definitely staying home this Summer. Hope your's is a safe one. Fall's not that far off... :)

Lol..plugging away, yes, that's one way of putting it. I'm here a few hours a day most days. This has been one hell of a ride so far in 2020. Thought moving away from NYC was enough. So much death...but it's Summer time. Pools open, time to party, howl at the moon and have a moonlight swim. The Fourth will be interesting. Be safe out there. Have a great week. Happy 4th!🎆

Hi J! We are fine here. I am working remotely from home and have been for the last 3 weeks or so. Same for my wife. This whole situation is crazy but hopefully we will (the world in general) bounce back from everything once the pandemic has run its course. I hope you are well. I'll send you a PM later.

Hi S! My wife and I are working from home. So far so good. I hope everyone takes this seriously and does what they can to keep the spread of the virus at bay until a vaccine is produced. Pretty crazy times. My daughter is a nurse. I have not been able to see her in weeks. Things are really tough for them.

In Poland it is not that bad, but my university was closed on March 12th, so were all schools. At that time there were 25 people with the virus, now there are over 1000, and as for now 16 dead. We are forbidden to leave homes, unless necessary. I am working from home, so is my partner, but he always does. My sister is a nurse and she is afraid they will delegate her to work in the hospital. If they do, she will have to be on self-isolation from her family.

Yes, it is not easy for nurses. They are the unsung heroes of this crisis. I suppose I'm going to get a lot of work done on the house and gardens because I can't really do anything else right now ;)

Yes, I don't blame you. It was difficult for me to watch the episodes when Theon was being tortured. If The Witcher is on the Netflix platform then I will look for it. I do more watching in the winter than summer months. I have 3 new books to read too so I am set for a little while ;)

....Happy belated birthday. Halloween parties are THE best. Alas, Winter is coming. I had to drag all the plants indoors today it's finally too cold. I didn't get any trick or treaters this year for the first time ever, I think that's no more as a tradition like it used to be... Anyways, take care. TGIBF!

We had tons of them at my house. they come in bunches of up to a dozen or so at a time. I think you are right though. In general, the tradition of trick-or-treating is sort of dying out. I remember my old neighborhood growing up, everyone was out in the street on Halloween night... and many people would decorate. I think my house was the only one decorated on my street this year. It is sad seeing what we consider a tradition slowly fade away. Thx for the birthday wishes and TGIBF! Cheers!

My house is off the main road. A lot of people have moved. Things are scary lately. We are thinking of moving out of NY. Maybe NC or further south to Texas. Times have changed. Not for the better either...I will keep the tradition regardless. Chocolate can be melted into Christmas candy. And yeah, having a drink now. TGIF. :)

Just keep in mind if considering relocating, Texas is warm all year. If you love the seasons and like a colder winter, you won't get that in Texas. Forget about snow... maybe an ice storm or two in the northern part of the state. I live in NE Oklahoma and you would literally have to pay me to live in Texas. It's too hot and flat in most areas for me. I would consider the Austin area.

Living near the coast may be a tricky thing in the next few decades. Ocean levels are rising, there is no denying it. Coastlines are going to change and people who own low lying property are in for some heartbreak. Storm surge is going to be a huge issue. Putting that to the side, have a good week, J! ;)

This must look nice for Halloween. I wish I could spend a Halloween in the US or Canada. We put decorations and lights on graves and then visit graves on Nov 1st. Cemetaries look very nice, especially in the dark with all the lights' glow. It's a solemn day, and Memento Mori is the main theme in people's minds on this day. Something completely different from Halloween.

It is fun, it would be fun to have you for Halloween. We celebrate All Saints Day on Nov. 1st. It sounds like the cemeteries would be beautiful in the evening there.

That's so kind of you, I would have fun, too. :) They are beautiful, some military burial grounds look very nice when the lights are put in the shape of the cross. I am not a fan of this day, though. And I misspelled 'cemetery'. I wrote 'cemetary' in my previous shout, it seems I have a print of the spelling for the German band Cemetary in my mind. I think I need some movie soundtracks to listen to right now. Been listening to the one from The Game of Thrones, First Season. I just love it. Do you ever listen to soundtracks?

Hi J! Well, I've been on an experimental/electronic ride for quite some time also. My daughter has me listening to Jonna Lee's (iamamiwhoami, ionnalee, etc.) stuff quite a bit. Lately I have been enjoying Crooked Colors, DJ Shadow, BOO SEEKA. I'm pretty pleased there is a new Black Keys album and who knew the Gorillaz came out with another? LOL. I've been enjoying some stuff on the ambient side as background music for CAD like Inner Wave, Solar Fields and Perpetual Loop.
