Hi. Thanks for the add! I'm in awe of your obvious commitment to scrobbling. I wonder if you can help me by suggesting a few good R. Stevie Moore records to serve as a way in to his back catalog? There's just too damn much of it.

Looking at your library, we both listen to Circus Devils but haven't heard any of the same albums, haha! You might like Five -- it took a while to grow on me but it is amazing! Parts of it are noisy and difficult, then there's some ambient electronic stuff in the second half of it that makes me think Boards. It's like Vampire on Titus crossed with Geogaddi. Or something.

Haha, thanks. I have a couple others in total states of disrepair, with other songs that really need to be on a good playlist. I'll figure them out eventually. As far as pillows stuff goes, Swanky Street = bestest song on bestest album. I really like Please Mr. Lostman, Living Field, and Runners High as albums, but pretty much anything from 1995 through 2002 (give or take a couple years) is classic, and there's definitely some good stuff scattered outside that range. "My Foot" was the first album of theirs that I just couldn't get any enjoyment out of at all, and I haven't bothered with their new stuff which just seems really samey and bland to me. It's disappointing, but at least they recorded a lot of really good music before that.

The second one is "Athens Time Change Riots", and it's for the most part more of a straightforward mix of rock and pop stuff that didn't find a place on any official albums. All are from Suitcase 1 unless otherwise noted. 1. James Riot 2. Let's Go Vike 3. Big School (Static Airplane Jive) 4. My Big Day* 5. Song of Below** 6. I Am Decided (Suitcase 2) 7. Taco, Buffalo, Birddog and Jesus 8. Bunco Men 9. Crunch Pillow (King Shit) 10. Hey Aardvark (Static Airplane Jive) 11. My Thoughts Are A Gas (Hardcore UFOs) 12. Scissors (King Shit) 13. Dodging Invisible Rays (Hardcore UFOs) 14. Shrine To The Dynamic Years 15. In Walked The Moon *"My Big Day" is split off to only use the third version that starts around 3:18 in the Suitcase track. **"Song of Below" is a Propeller outtake only available on fan bootlegs (look for "The Carefree Kitchens Are A Blast"), but if you can't find it, you could substitute it for "Pink Drink" from Suitcase 1, which is one of the tracks it became the basis of.

Okay, I think I'm finally ready to post these, haha. Here's two album-length GBV playlists I'm pretty happy with, compiled from Suitcase stuff, Hardcore UFOs boxset, King Shit, and relatively obscure EP tracks. The first one is "Settlement Down". I tried to put together something that could fit some of the less straightforward tracks, with some krautrock or prog tendencies here and there. I don't know how much I succeeded in that, but I like how it flows as an 'album'. 1. Daughter of the Gold Rush (Suitcase 2) 2. Cruise (Suitcase 1) 3. Settlement Down (Suitcase 1) 4. Messenger (Suitcase 1) 5. (I'll Name You) The Flame That Cries (Hardcore UFOs) 6. Invisible Train To Earth (Suitcase 2) 7. Soul Barn (Suitcase 2) 8. I Can See It In Your Eyes (Suitcase 1) 9. The Kissing Life (Suitcase 1) 10. He's The Uncle (Hardcore UFOs) 11. Where I Come From (Suitcase 1) 12. Tear It Out (Suitcase 1) 13. Cocksoldiers And Their Postwar Stubble (Sunfish Holy Breakfast) 14. It's Only Up To You (Suitcase 2)

I've finally gotten around to listening to the music you gave me, and I love Panda Bear and Animal Collective. The rest of it's good too, but they're my favourites of this bunch. It reminds me of Bob Marley. Not so much the musical style, but the fact that I can't stay in a bad mood after listening to it.
