Ah, I see the P(ixies) played after the N(ational) :-) If you like to check out some new music, I recommend Sharon van Etten's album «Are We There».

I guess, T is one of the more enduring characters - all the "The"-bands alone ;) But afterwards it should be a short one with U-Z. Any plans what's coming next when you're through?

On a stumbling session via Hazel O' Connor and going back... I thought, there must have been an album. And I found it: Lene Lovich, Stiff Years Volume 1. But still not sure about your A-Z way ;-) Btw: Luscious Jackson are back.

(Oops! VickIE…) Funny, his androgyny or otherwise had never occurred to me. Maybe you should start a last.fm group where one could muse on the deconstruction of the icon ~or just have fun exchanging reminiscences of those-good-old-days-when-one-didn't-have-to-think-of-paying-bills-and-stuff… By the way, your batch must have caught our hero in a repeat or something, you secondhand Vickie fan you :P

You've made it to the F :) I'm really impressed by your endurance to listen to your whole collection. Maybe I should try this as well sometimes - but I think I love discovering new music way to much ;)

Ha... If I could clone myself I would go the every gig ;-) Savages within one week from a 250 cellar and then on a (wider) big stage. Amazing! Besides: Sam Amidon very entertaining.

Just out of curiosity: Are you making a B-month (only artists with B in your collection)? :)

Hi, thanks for dropping by. Yeah, 'Junior' didn't really do it for me all that much. I just prefer her instrumental guitar work. I got what she was trying to do with 'Junior' but, IMO it focused too much on the weaker areas of her music (vocals, lyrics) and less on her greatest strength (her amazing guitar skills). Dreaming of Revenge and Until we Felt Red had those elements too but were more balanced overall. I recommend the latter if you're interested in any of her other albums. :)

Nothing guilty about them at all, unless of course you're refering to my preference of Olivia Newton John's "Hopelessly Devoted To You" over Stockard Channing's "There Are Worse Things I Could Do". If anything I like both songs almost equally but the problem with Grease, as I'm sure you'll agree, the good songs are toploaded and the quality then quickly drains. (Interestingly Toploader have no good songs, but one of them used his position in the band to get a go on pre-baldy, post-Fully Booked Gail Porter which isn't too shabby). So by the time Stockard 'late 30's pretending to be a teenager' Channing gets around to that song, the comparitive quality of it makes it seem more than it really is. The rest of my pleasures are totally shameless, not including the thing with cake mix and next door's Alsatian.

And none of them a Carter's classic. Standards have well and truly slipped. Could never get that scrobbly thing to work properly. It only ever picks up episodes of football weekly & the news quiz instead of my music ipod. If it was working it would only show an ungodly amount taken from my Leonard Cohen and the Saturdays playlist.

Well Stu you might have a chance 0) The reason I picked the 3 I sent you was because they are all current Punk bands touring now http://www.last.fm/event/3167896+Gimp+Fist%2C+Booze+and+Glory+and+Last+Rough+Cause+live but if i were you i'd look at Rebellion in Blackpool http://www.last.fm/festival/2027162+Rebellion+Festival+2012 where you would also get to see these guys http://www.last.fm/music/The+Agitators/+videos/+1-2mo9oASfQ_o check that one out. The scene is a lot smaller than in used to be but arguably all the better for it. Oi Oi Oi
