I'd like to go see Tame Impala, It's bloody expensive though. I'd be hard pushed to find anyone interested in dropping $100 to see them.

I have a hard-copy of that issue of 'Loud & Quiet' but haven't had time to read it yet! :( Still not sure re: favourite track on 'Currents' - current thinking... 'Let It Happen' - I know that's a fairly obvious choice but it's hypnotic! Glad Blur was a lot of fun, which tees did you get?

I suppose it's not *totally* unrelated ;) I need to check out the new Day Ravies album - have you heard it yet? Have a fantastic time at Blur :D

It's living up to the hype for me! I still need to give it a few more plays though. Very jealous that you're getting to see Blur - would've loved to have seen them on this tour. On a totally unrelated point I am growing very impatient for a new Melody's Echo Chamber record.

Sounds like you've got a good summer lined-up! Indietracks aside I haven't got any stand-alone gigs on the cards until September. Release day is a Monday in the UK but I read somewhere that this will be changing to a Friday at some point in the near future. I think 'Currents' is out here on the 20th July :(

I'm yet to buy, there's still Bronze/Silver seats available. I should get onto it, it seems like now or never if I want to see them, Magic Whip is a definite grower, gets better with every listen. And yeah, hanging out for next week before I buy Currents.

Hey Kristen. It's nice to see another Australian on here! I'm yet to hear Currents, but I'm glad I found out one of the tracks is called Nangs from your plays. Where abouts will you be seated for Blur?

Great purchase! I picked up the new Ceremony album 'The L-Shaped Man' today - stronger contender for my favourite album of the year so far (it's on a very long-list). Getting impatient waiting for the new Tame Impala album now! I might be getting back in the gig promoting game - watch this space! :)

Courtney is getting really good reviews in the UK and some of the venues she's playing next month have been upgraded due to demand. I kinda like the fact that her songs are about rather mundane things as I can relate to that. Strange that she's not getting a major push back in Australia tho'. I bet Way Out West will be amazing, no festivals for me this year i'm afraid (apart from my regular trip to Indietracks!).

There's another new Blur track up on Spotify (and Graham sings a little on this one)! Really looking forward to the new album now. I also have the new CB album on order (it's on orange vinyl!!!) :D

I've not been online much over the last couple of days so haven't heard/downloaded the new Tame Impala track yet. Is the new Noel Gallagher album a guilty pleasure? I'm not sure but it's consistently great, probably the best album he's put out in a long, long time. Very jealous re: Courtney Barnett - she's playing in Nott'm soon but it's on Easter Sunday so I probably won't make it (no transport!). The initial date sold out so the gig had to be upgraded due to demand. Looking forward to the debut album which is out in a couple of weeks.

Riiight? So hype. Their new album was a real step forward too- be interesting to see how it translates in a live context

AOTY? Hard to say, I'm pretty out of the loop with current indie-pop stuff... I think Lykke Li, St Vincent, Wye Oak and Cloud Nothings put out good albums that I liked. I'm hearing good things about the Run The Jewels album which I should've gotten around to by now, i liked the first album they did. How about you? Any recommendations?

Hey! How was the Damon Albarn gig? The album is quite sombre so i'd be interested to hear how it transferred across into a live setting (though i've heard he plays a few Blur and Gorillaz songs too). I'm not sure Jack is quite old enough to appreciate Christmas yet but he enjoyed the Jingle Bell Ball baby sensory event we went to at the weekend and was very animated when he was handed a present! :D I'm still working on my best of 2014 list - I think the Angel Olsen probably tops it though.

I haven't read either the Hook or Sumner books so will have to check them out. Have you listened to the new TV on the Radio album (Seeds)? I reckon you'd dig it! :D I haven't checked out your Electronic recommendation either so will have to dig out that album. I did buy a copy of it ages ago in a library sale but not sure if i've ever given it a proper listen :(

I spotted that but haven't had chance to check it out yet so will try and give it a listen this week. The past fortnight has been mega hectic and kinda stressful at times so I haven't had much time for last.fm-ing. I'm really enjoying the new She Keeps Bees album and I keep going back to the Honeyblood album so i'd recommend giving those a listen if you have some time.

I quite liked the Delays back in the day (well their debut album at any rate). I found out about Blaue Blume via an American music magazine I read called 'Under the Radar' - it's quite hard to track down but very good and the digital sampler is normally pretty good for new band tips! Hope the new job is going well :)

New Interpol is very good, I think my favourite is probably a toss up between 'My Desire' and 'My Blue Supreme'. It sounds like the companion piece to TOTBL which is one of my all-time favourite albums. Haven't listened to the new Iceage yet but they seem to be building up a bit of a cult following. This week i've been listening to the new Ty Segall record which is incredible and the latest from White Fence which is almost as good. Jack still has a cough/cold so he's not been sleeping too well so consequently i'm a bit sleep deprived. He's enjoying my early morning jams from iTunes though ;) Have you started your new job yet?

*waves* haven't been 'shouting' much this week as work/life has been very hectic (the new academic year started this week), have I missed anything? I've mostly been listening to old Supergrass albums because i'm so young and hip *lol*

I haven't been to a Record Fair in ages but that sounds awesome! The little guy hasn't started playing the drums (yet!) but he is wearing a Rolling Stones t-shirt today and making a lot of noise! I'll keep my fingers crossed re: the job, must be nerve-wracking!

In the UK? April tends to be fairly mild and the weather is generally ok - a mix of rain and sunshine. That's pretty exciting - are you coming over for something specific or are you going to plan something nearer the time? I really like the new Interpol tracks - i've been a fan since the first album (which is one of my all-time favourites).

You're dead right about 4AD! The new Manics album is racking up a fair number of plays too. Not sure about the Nick Cave film - I suspect it'll get a limited release at some point. I need to check out the new Blonde Redhead album this week, the early signs (i've heard 2 tracks) are good so keeping my fingers crossed. I've never really got into The Knife but I do have a couple of their albums.

I think I was a bit premature in my evaluation of the Alvvays album, must have been having a bad day! (it's fast becoming one of my most played albums of 2014). I also really like the new one from Merchandise. The title track of the new Spoon album is my early favourite but the whole thing is pretty much perfect (got my vinyl copy in the mail today!).

It most certainly is! I wasn't so enamoured with the previous album but pretty much everything before that was flawless. Currently struggling to see why Alvvays are getting so much hype - i've listened to the album twice and i'm a bit... underwhelmed. How are you?

We've watched the first 40 minutes or so and it's great so far. Unfortunately Jack decided to go to sleep slightly earlier than usual so we'll have to watch the rest on Sunday as i'm off to a festival tomorrow :P
