I've not actually heard anything he's done since Plateau Vision! I guess I have some catching up to do. The problem is that when I look at my "to catch up on" list, I see Common as Light and Love and hit the close button immediately.

I can't believe how good the bass on it sounds. I love the bottomless density of the self-produced tracks too, it's like the musical analogue to his rapping style on the first record, just relentless. Oh, oh, and the bit after Redman's verse in Cosmic Slop is currently my favourite moment in music. I just wish he was a bit more coherent on this album, he really did go confusing like Rubik's cube boxes.

yeah for real, it's such a shame they broke up after that. I ended up buying a copy of that tape :w it's pretty solid, some dumb growly metal vocals but pretty great sludge/shoegaze stuff for the most part

things are okay, been feeling burned out and the fall weather seems to have finally hit our coast so there's been a ton of rain. I am playing Jazz music in an ensemble and that's pretty cool but I want to work on some other music projects not directly related to Jazz. generally I have to start doing more creative things, but opportunity is something I have to make happen for myself I realize. plans change and friends grow apart, and sometimes you can't be honest with anyone on what you really think. I like techno and I'll check out your recommendations, thanks

sup bud, I just logged on to last.fm jut now and I got to thinking "what does all this even mean?" do you have any favorite records from this year? I feel like there has been very little of interest besides that new Kayo Dot jam for me at least

Agreed. Australians know their shit. I see you too have listened to Hospital Sports, I'm expecting great things from them assuming they put out a full length release. Remind me a lot of C-Clamp. I might as well ask if you have any recommendations, always trying to find new stuffs.

Boredoms is probably the best place to start, their sound collectively encompasses the spirit of some of the other bands like OOIOO or Hanatarash. For Boredoms I'd start with either "Chocolate Synthesizer" or "Super Ae", the further back in the discog you go, the noisier it gets, Eye's bands being the noisiest as in Hanatarash. OOIOO is Yoshimi's band, start anywhere but Green and Gold is lovely and psychedelic. ROVO is worth checking as well and includes some of the members of Bondage Fruit, really cool album to get started is "Imago" you can find it in the archive. There are a couple others but those are the main ones i've been listening to, and of course bondage fruit is also really great.

I have one other potentially really cool ambient track and then I am going to try getting an actual DAW for recording at home (right now I am using Audacity). Then I am collaborating with a friend of mine on a comic book, which I have never ever done.

you notice all of the bands named after Belle and Sebastian songs? Imagine that. anyway I made a soundcloud of some stuff I threw together, you might like it https://soundcloud.com/disc-voices you can give me feedback as well, but I have already set my sights on some new projects

I think it's cute, it's a lot like Midori but a bit more on the J-pop side of things rather than hardcore or jazzcore or whatever. Signature Midori includes banging keys fast drums and some gleaming guitars that are in the same rhythmic interplay as heard on other records from Midori. More singing, not distinctive but I like it.

Aye, inspired by you, don't tell Benny. Hadn't heard his post-Thela, pre-Be Mine stuff. White Winged Moth was even better than Black Boned Angel imo. I hated that Cities Aviv reccud when I first heard it, it's like a unicorn puking a rainbow into your face while you're tripping on E or something. But a grower! Not like any album you've ever heard before, count on it.

dude, yes I thought that as well about the track, but I really liked Diamond Terrifier. The tones of the record are very nice and I especially liked the title track and Adamantine. and I just dunno because there is a lot of stuff in your library that I know nothing about :P But I like listening to new things!
