I gotta put up some YT vids of APC domination on IV's DLC. It's somehow more fun when you're playing as a Dominican with a baseball bat rofl

Only after being given shit for having 150k+ plays and not having even 1,000 artists have I started loosening my death grip on being picky with the BDM artists I play... I love obscure BDM, and am generally dissatisfied with "mainstream" BDM. For example, my most played artist has (or had) single digit listeners and plays bad ass Columbian BDM, with all but 99 of their scrobbles being attributed to me. Meanwhile, one of the most highly touted slamming BDM bands annoys the fuck out of me. Yet if you look at Kraanium's charts, you will notice that they have 12,032 listeners, scrobbling 356,000 plays. It pisses me off that I was responsible for 25 of those plays, and being a listener... It isn't a question of being picky, really. It is just that as BDM is a sub-genre of DM, it has its own sub-genres, and is a matter of finding out what you like. We are all picky about what we play, because we all gravitate towards playing what we like.

It really depends on what sub-genre of BDM you are after. Some other recommendations, based on style... Technical is one I really don't have a lot of recommendations for (I am not a big technical fan), but off the top of my head Cytotoxin or Decaying Form... Groovy, but not slam heavy, Phalogore are probably the masters... Generic BDM; Undergrave or Gorefuck... Grind then either My First Knife or Cadaverine... Themed bands; Tzun Tzu (Oriental) or No One Gets Out Alive (Redneck/Hillbilly)... Slam; Created From Pigs Mutilation, Deformed Cadaver, Extirpating The Infected, Chordotomy, Tracheotomy or about 60-70% of the artists within my charts that play BDM.

Either you will love it or hate it, there is no middle ground here, but check out Gutfucked's "Fucked To Death". (I am in the love it category.) Intricated's "Chronofrustration" if you want some good slam. Abhorrent Castigation's "Enthralled By Abysmal Delusion" is an awesome demo. Laceration's "Severing The Divine Iniquity" is another great start.

↓↓ That is sage advice right there. Very little rap has the brutality of some serious, non-trendy death metal. The Geto Boys are the exception. And while 'The Resurrection' hits harder and is better produced, don't look past the self titled album. Especially Track #3.

You wanna play some good hip-hop, drop that Drake and T.I. bullshit and play Geto Boys' The Resurrection! lol

LOL... Not really. I think he started reading lyrics to what was being growled and appreciated the hardassery of it... That and he has blamed me expanding his musical horizons... Hell, he probably has more scrobbled DM artists than I have, so that hangs over his head, too. :))

I shouldn't give him too much shit for that, though. I am the same way with rap and other non-DM genres. :))

LOL, yeah. There are the occasional DM/BDM songs that he feels. I am more shocked that he hasn't liked Intricated's "Chronofrustration", though. It has insane bass drop and is up there with E40 as far making my poor sub flatten out.

You know what the funny part is, tho? I have over 3x as many BDM artists in my library than you do :P
