wow, i can't believe Supertramp is a pop band, their music sounded complex enough for me.

believe me, Procol Harum was the one who brought me into the wonderful world of Prog Rock, although the first prog band my mentor introduced me to was ELP, Procol Harum is what brings my memories of the beginning :D, anyway, do you have Skype or some sort of messenger?

Well, my keyboard mentor introduced me to "Whiter Shade of Pale", then he asked to download their whole discography, so i did, and eventually fell in love with their 70s works <3. I and still am a big fan of Procol Harum because of my keyboard mentor :D, and anyway my current favorite Procol album is self-titled and Home <3 (I love the harshness Home offers)

It started when i was liking Queen during the time i was 14, i met this one mentor who is a prog veteran during his time. I slowly evolved during the time, i mean, from learning some simple pop songs into some complex-crazed Prog songs on keyboards, it was also my mentor who converted me into a proghead :), he would tell me many stories of what prog bands would be doing during their time, and i gotta say i was fascinated by it! So i dug some bands similar to what he recommend, he first recommended me Emerson, Lake and Palmer during the time i was firstly introduced to Prog Rock :D. but then i found progarchives and made an account there, i was quite surprised that everyone there was nice :)

Ha, yeah, Jethro Tull! And no problem, thanks for accepting! Always good to see a fellow American prog fan - from my experience at least, they're hard to come by :)

“Once again, in November 2010 the album was re-released both on vinyl and CD with newly cut masters approved by Robert Fripp. Remastering was executed by Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree.” ~Wiki. I have mixed feelings. I like the idea, but some segments of songs (more like particular chords even) do bother me. And Moonchild sounds really funny without the ordinary background noise. Anyway, from the historical perspective — it's important and interesting experiment but still I like Fripp's 2004 version more.

just saw your last 7 days! wtf! wow. i've been listening to a few bands and trying to discover new music. Jethro Tull was recommended to me by someone on reddit and I have their music on queue. dude, it's so weird, I've been listening to a lot of post-rock and instrumental music and it's what I primarily listen to when i code now. but I guess i would like progressive rock a lot too if i gave some of the good bands from it a chance.

what!? they really asked a 10 year old? what's the song called? I actually can't keep up with "new" music b/c for one, most of it is just recycled crap and also, there's a bunch of classic rock and other music just fossilized as awesome so I have to check that out first. I'm actually listening to Jethro Tull (for the first time) as I type this, good stuff.

hmm I have been listening and scrobbling almost everything but I think it's just coz it's over 2 years worth of plays. now with spotify, i've started listening to music a lot more so i'm always scrobbling. are you not scrobbling from your iphone? looks like that might be the reason you don't have a ton of plays. coz i know you listen to more music that 8000 songs a year lol
