it might be the death metal kick, but here are the bands it tells me we have in common: Majority Rule, Swans, Pg.99, Orchid and City of Caterpillar

Yeah, it's pretty awesome stuff. He's super talented. I believe he's doing well, but I haven't seen him in a few months (should--and will--change that). I think your best bet would be to contact him through facebook or on here (slambrewandrew).

Ever heard of Devilica? I'm not horribly impressed with their music, but they gain bonus points for being the only Malaysian mathcore band with which I'm familiar. I have always had an appreciation for metal bands from countries I'd never expect: http://www.last.fm/music/Devilica

Yeah, I sure don't understand the ins and outs of the compatibility meter. Year of the Swine is one of my favorite Converge songs, and easily the most fun, in my opinion. I just got the new album by Eyedea and Abilities (heh, I won it by being the third caller to the secular progressive radio station!), and I enjoy it quite a bit. If you're into much indie hip hop, you may like it. It kind of reminds me of Sage Francis, but with a wider variety of instrumentation, like Mos Def or A Tribe Called Quest.

I should listen to more Neurosis. What kind of classical stuff do you like? My favourites are George Crumb (as if you hadn't noticed...) and Olivier Messiaen. Supposedly there's some evil-sounding Bach stuff that I've yet to discover.
