The Pumpkins rule! You'll probably like Phase too if you have an ear for new music! Same radgie vocals... Probably the same unsuccessful Mick Jagger cloning! Ha! Keep it this way!

if you want something similar to highway 61/blonde on blonde, try bringing it all back home. if you want something darker and more jaded but superbly written, listen to blood on the tracks. it's probably his most personal album, one of my favorites.

thanks! i'll check them out. i've listened to everything by the strokes at least once. i have to be in a certain mood for them. oasis = modern day beatles huh!? sounds great =) anyway i don't see much dylan in your library. his discography is rich; there's much to discover that way

you too! i'm looking to get into more modern music. as you can see, most of what i've been listening to is 60s/70s. what do you think i might enjoy?

definitely! :) oh yeah, how are you digging coldplay's new stuff? and have you ever heard of the band sleigh bells? I'm really loving them right now. and all those random indie bands coming up on the alternative radio... like I really liked Helena Beat by Foster the People, and that new Joy Formidable song. oh dear... i'm glad you haven't heard the horrors of crunkcore -.- it's a disgrace, haha. i didn't go to the coldplay concert, but all my friends did! and i heard it was amazing... instead i watched their live concert special on youtube. SPECTACULAR. and i always wonder how viva la vida is so popular yet... it sounds very un-pop. i think it's kind of a miracle in itself. well, if you ever want bjork recommendations... i'm the one to ask. she's my role model. :D

Alright. i'll just keep on listening to it :) maybe in a few years time all of it will come to me. and thanks so much for the recommendations! i've actually never heard of sly and the family stone, so I'm excited to try them out. and that's cool - variety is always nice. It's okay! we all have our different music tastes, so it's fine if you don't see the hype in dubstep. i can understand how you wouldn't like some of it... however, one genre i really do not like at all is crunkcore. i really hate that kind of music :-/ aw yeah! wombats and the arctic monkeys! those outta be good. i know foster the people is coming to my town soon, so we'll see if I'll go to it or not. there was a coldplay concert here recently and that was great :) oh yeah - what's your opinion on bjork?

well thank you! :) actually, i can't really get into anything back in the 60's-70's. my friends told me to try out Pink Floyd, Beck (i know he's not the 60s-70s, but still), and the Velvet Underground but I can never seem as appreciative as the music as they do... it makes me wonder what I'm missing out in the songs. :( however, yes. I'm completely stuck in the 90's. and I'm recently falling into the Beatles, haha. I decided to check out the hype about them. They're certainly good :) yes! as I grow older, I'm hoping I can get into different genres too. maybe funk, reggae, j-rock, etc. I'm really enjoying some techno and dubstep at the moment. ever heard of pogo? i'm really digging his stuff; i think he's a techno/dubstep musician. :) you haven't been to america? yeah, i'm guessing we do have better gigs and festivals, lol. but at least australia has something! i'm guessing if you lived in africa it wouldn't be so fun, lol.

i completely agree! :) oh! and sorry - i neglected to read your bio. i like it a lot :) AMAZING music taste! mine is actually pretty limited - the library of songs that I actually like isn't very diverse. I really need to expand on it. :-/ and that's what i'm doing now, haha. And thanks for the kind words on my bio - and I'd like to say it's one of the most honest things I've ever wrote. So you're in Australia? I have met some really good people there. I dream to go there one day :)

Cheers, just had a look through yours not to shabby either. Don't see Kid A or In Rainbows in the list though :P They are like Radioheads best along with OKC.

Ah, haha, I meant your favourite Beatles album, but good choices nonetheless! :D Dark Side of the Moon is an excellent album [Although, if I'm honest, I still prefer Animals from Floyd :P] Eeeeh, my favourite albums...well most of them I won't bore you with because they're quite unusual metal albums which I doubt you'll have heard of, but some better known ones would be Rubber Soul, Let it Be, Abbey Road, A Hard Day's Night, Animals, Rush - Fly By Night and Moving Pictures, David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust(atSfM), Rainbow - Rising and Led Zeppelin III :)

Yep, I mean I do like Revolver [And Your Bird Can Sing/Tomorrow Never Knows are my favourites from it :)] It's just a long way from my favourite album! In My Life is great :) I think my all time favourite song would probably be I Am The Walrus, but I think that around 95% of their songs have been my favourite at some point or another, so it doesn't say much. xD So what would you say is your overall favourite album? Rubber Soul or something else?

Ah, thank-you! Yes, I agree.. Girl, Norwegian Wood, In My Life, Michelle, all so emotional, with some catchy stuff like The Word, Drive My Car and I'm Looking Through You to balance it all out. I think it's an absoloutely perfect album. Revolver...I don't know, it grates on me after a while. I can't really play it more than once at a time, whereas I can happily leave RS on repeat for hours!

hey vi, i just found this website and i think it's the perfekt community site to recommand a band from my hometown , that plays progressive psychedelic rock, inspired by bands like pink floyd, early genesis, caravan or camel.... they are practically unknown and i think they deserve more than that....check them out > www.youtube.com/grandgreenofficial and/or www.facebook.com/thegrandgreenofficial .... greetings from austria :)
