Nice gif, dude :) It's from the gory anime "Amon - The Apocalypse of Devilman", isn't it? I always adored those old-school animations, rather than their latest reboots. Have you ever checked "Berserk", "The Fists of The Northstar", or "Genocyber"? If not, you shoukd check them out. I promise, You won't regret it.

Yes I have seen all of those. I am an avid anime consumer. I watch way more than I probably should. I have been watching ever since I can remember and it started with the classics. I have not exposed myself to the garbage that is Devilman Crybaby, but I think people really liked it? I dunno, I saw snippets and it sickened me. I'm very bias, I guess. What other stuff do you like?

I hope the iced coffee was cooling enough. Here weather's also getting warmer, now it is evening and I embrace the coolness :-) ... Yes, Rammstein is quite known here also. I remember that I also saw ads in TV once for them. For example the other 3 artists you mentioned, I don't know by name. Who knows I might recognize their music when I hear it

Low German, yes, I can understand that, I know a few songs, but once they speak faster it will be difficult. Here in the current region there are 2 dialects, even when they would speak slowly I would have difficulties. Language is a way to make things faster but also a way to stay in groups, so others cannot join in easily. Here is an example sentence for the LG: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:DE-NDS_Wat_mutt_dat_mutt_GT.ogg

Having kids/animals... is good since they keep us in motion . After we get the vaccine everything can get back to normal and you can get those the lemon meringue pies also :-) The reason for comic collectors may be also that they seek another reason for their desire to read them, and convince the wife for the money... he he... I wish you a great weekend. Is it still rainy there? Here sun will sine it seems

True, true... I know someone who is into comics, reading but also collecting as money investment. It's a nice hobby but man is he careful with the comics, with gloves reading and in plastic, looks weird :-) ... Yeah, damn Corona, takes fun in many things away. I hope your weekend is starting soon and you have good music to accompany :-) Weather here probably is good, so we will BBQ again, what about your plans?

Wow, what a flashback, you made me remember the Vanilla Ice and Mc Hammer times :-) Good old memories. I read recently one of Vanilla Ice's concerts before cancelling due to Corona could onlygather like 300 ticket buyers :-( ... I have noticed that since the lockdown began I am listening more classical music, one day I will find outthe reason for that also. Tell me more when you have tested the playlist features, if you like it etc. I wish you a relaxing Sunday

Well, we stay at home mostly, better safe than sorry. From our near environment, thankfully no one caught the virus either. But one can never know for sure... We all are waiting for a vaccine which seems to come next year only :-( Meanwhile let us distract more with our hobbies e.g. like music... Yes, the lastfm devs are still working, they have a forum where one can see this. Let's hope one day lastfm gets to where it was once again. What's on your musical agenda for the weekend? I am trying to finish later my "Release Radar" playlist on spotify

Nice, you've listened to already >4600 bands :-) ... I discovered you in the "Discovery Leaderboard" section (May 8-14), you are at #2 place there (I am in the Scrobble LB): last DOT fm/user/Veckodag/listening-report/week ... How's life on your side of the Earth ? here in Germany we now have to wear face masks when driving bus, shopping and so on... I guess you and your family too avoid public crowds recently in this world-wide pandemic, as we also... Stay safe

It's like an Ipod, but the Microsoft version, which is way better. And if you don't know Ipod, it's just a music player. You can put videos on it too though.

I think that's every human's dream, to be able to talk with anyone they meet and to destroy the language barrier, the one barrier that prevents us from being closer. Albeit, there's nothing wrong with having that space, in my opinion. It makes our cultures distinct. Lol, I'm learning French as well 😂 I wanna go to Paris one day. Not to see the Effiel tower or anything, just to brood in a café while watching people walk by.

Where are you from? If you'd be as kind as to tell me. And I'd like to know how old you are. You've been through high school, so I'd assume you're around your mid-twenties? As for me, I'm 16, going on 17.

Now that's a list, whoa! I'd say I've never heard of about half of it... The other half is either bands I like or bands I don't like. Well, I don't think that liking Japanese bands makes me a weeaboo, it's all about WHY I like them. To like something solely on the basis of it being foreign, is weeaboo-y imo. There needs to be a more solid reason. Like how I told you that I like the structural composition of Jrock, its inspirations, and its inter-genre experimentation. To be like: "It's Japanese, UwU I like that race of people so, therefore, I like their rock" is pretty... yikes! Thinking I'm European is racially accurate, I'm half Russian! My other half is Afghan, and I immigrated to Canada from the people's republic of Uzbekistan when I was a mere five years old. I'm a Canadian citizen, so I'm not American. I'm glad that you're trying to learn again, I think that learning Japanese is kinda like a lifelong crusade that takes a long time... But it'll pay off in the long run, eh?

2/2 the next Nirvana or Maroon 5 or whatever. I'm sick of it. Anyway, that was a tangent. Not even sure if I actually do what you're talking about, ehehe... Well, rap as a genre can be very uninteresting when done in another language. My JLP 5 Japanese can't understand Japanese rappers by ear (forget K-Hip-Hop, it's all Greek to me!), and the five-note instrumentation loop most rap songs use just aren't interesting on their own merit. And those fat middle-aged white men have their profile pictures of themselves and their names--something like "James Bradford" and then a picture of some blading dude who looks like Rich from Reviewtech USA.

Well, no, I like thrash too. I might go and listen to Floatsam and Jetsam then. Oh, okay. Nonetheless, my comment still stands. Well, even if it's weird, if you think it's of good quality, then please share it with me. I think I know exactly what you're talking about. Some JP bands borrow a lot from the western sound (THE four chords, overly slick production, borrowing from Hip-Hop, singing exclusively in English etc.), and I'll be honest, I don't like it nearly as much as I like the distinctly Japanese rock music (using the Jpop chord progression, having lower-key and even grungier production, borrowing heavily from 80's rock and the then-blossoming metal scene, and Japanese lyrics [I'm learning Japanese, so it can seriously help me study when I need to translate a song]. I got into Jrock because it's not like what we have here. I know it almost sounds weeaboo-y to say that, but it's a taste of something that is addictive and not as common as our atmosphere of bands trynna be 1/2

Specific? Naw man, I find that fat, white, middle-aged men (can tell by the profile pictures) are the most likely group to hate JP metal (for either racist, simply biased, or understandable reasons), so they're my marker for whether a band has wide appeal or great talent. I'm glad you though Noir Fleurir was cute, I was worried you'd hate them! ... Well, Ween is my closest marker for them, because they're off the Goddamn wall (listened to every song and album, and I still can't put a finger on their style) I can't really compare them to anyone else. Well, I don't really have any Western bands I feel are worth the recommendation, as I usually listen to Hip-Hop when I'm not listening to my JP bands. That and the western bands I like best are either super duper popular, super niche, or ones I'm not familiar enough with. Pssh, I sometimes thrash as well. Why do you think I wouldn't approve?

Anyway, as for the JP speed metal I've fallen for, I was talking about the three main bands. They are "Rosenfeld" (someone said they're actually thrash metal not speed metal, but some of their songs are less thrash and more speed though), "Rommel" and "Mein Kampf". They're Nazi-themed, but they're not actual Nazis. I like 'em lots! Anyway, they've been praised by fat middle-aged white men, so I think that means that they're pretty fucking good. Maybe you'd like to give them a listen?

I'd rec SHAZNA because they give me life, but they're just bubblegum pop with guitar solos to placate rock fans in denial of how not all pop music is trash.

Already listen to Deviloof, hehe! Gotcha there! But... Now I'm gonna have to take the plunge. Okay! Stop me if you know any, but here are some bands I wanna recommend: 1. Aliene Ma'riage [Not really sure if they qualify as hardcore punk because Kyouka's lyrics are kinda ??? But they fucking SLAM {21st century fucked me up}] 2. Deadman [you probably have already listened to them, I feel... They're just that good] 3. Laputa 4. La'Cryma Christi 5. BAISER [I fuckin' adore these boys, but they might be a little too poppy/lite for your taste] 6. Noir Fluerir [a dangerous gamble... They can be considered annoying by some listeners, but their insanely weird songs and catchy, downright cute (lots of love for KENGO) energy is what makes me love them so damn much. They're kinda like ween, which I adore, so if you like Ween, you'll probably like them, if not then please ignore me]

Anywho, you got any good band recommendations? I feel like we should get more in common. That and I like exploring new artists. Personally, I'm looking for some symphonic/orchestral metal/rock. Or maybe some speed metal? IDK, I've only garnered a love for JP Speed metal, but I feel like I should branch out a bit.

Hi there! That's a pity, I hoped you'd like post rock. Yeah, surely I'll check Sentenced's cover of song. Well, I've been listening to jazz/ dark jazz, 8 bit/chiptune and Russian underground hip hop lately. As you see, unfortunately the genres don't match with the ones marked on your Last.weeks. No no no, I ain't no Rock type of person. I used to listen to rock and metal but now I rarely listen to them except post rock, sludge and stoner. Hmmm, that's interesting. I had no willing to listen to Radiohead until your message. Well I wonder if I would call it post rock. Let's see! You might like Cats Never Die
