I started listening to Sparks again, looked back and saw we talked about yeeeeeears ago! And then saw you're listening to FlyLo, which I think is awesome because I'm obsessed. Saw him in Amsterdam last month and my brain hasn't resolidified yet....

HEY! you were bloody right and all, they are but a pale imitation (i had to finally get some JL to find out and i can't get enough). That album has a couple of sludgy stonkers (My Bed and Ice Cream are the best imo) which reminded me of the original and the best : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBh_M9S8wz4 it's one thing to be fucking loud like Converge or something but another thing to be good taut noise rock with tension hanging on every out-of-tune chord

Alrite man sorry to span your shoutbox, but noticed youd been listening to the new manics album, it really is fucking excellent, definitely the best album theyve done in years. The proper sequel to Holy Bible, you can totally see the Richie influence as I think all the lyrics were his. 'She Bathed Herself In A Bath Of Bleach' is one of the best tracks on the album.

Alrite, just to let you know I finally got that 'Nowhere' album, which is pretty fucking good, especially the song 'Seagull'. I also got another of Ride's which is pretty rare, their last album 'Tarantula' from 1996.

Alrite mate noticed youre into Ride. See that 'Nowhere' album, Ive been meaning to get it for like 3 years or something now man lol I already have 'Going Blank Again' & 'Carnival Of Light' which ive had for ages now. I recentley listened to the Going Blank Again album in its enitritey for the first time in ages and forgot how great an album it is. Is 'Nowhere' similar to 'Going Blank Again'? Ive read before it is considered the best shoegazing album of all time. Will need to get it soon as I think its getting rare/out of print.

Yeah well Im not 'properly' into him yet but about a month ago ,a guy I work with who had just been to one of his concerts gave me his discography on a usb stick & ive listened to a couple of his albums- from what Ive heard he is really pretty good. The best way to describe him is that he looks & sounds like Tom Petty.

Alrite man, I noticed you had Bon Iver in your charts. I got the album when it first came out and it is fucking excellent. Take it you know the story about him splitting up with his bird, going to live up in Winconsin mountains & living as a recluse hunting wild animals to survive. Whats better he recorded an album at the same time. My favourite track is 'The Wolves (Act 1 & 2)'. Cant always listen to the whole album though as it is really despressing. Still great though! Have you heard the Fleet Foxes yet?

Music you have in common includes Tom Waits, Patti Smith, Johnny Cash, Morrissey and Sonic Youth? + Bowi, PJ Harvey, etc.? That's not 'a gay taste in music', that is 'a taste in music'. Great, very very great, charts <3

Alrite, I might try to get it then, I dont actually have all of Sonic Youth's albums to be honest. I only got 'Goo', 'Daydream Nation', 'Dirty' & 'Rather Ripped'. I actually have an uncle whos really into them so he gave me a lend of their albums 'Murray Street', 'Bad Moon Rising', 'Evol', 'Sister', 'Washing Machine' 'Experimental..; some of which i aint listened to yet. My favourite album Ive heard from them so far is definitely 'Goo' though. I also love the 'Death Valley 69' song they did with Lydia Lunch- also the video is mental. As for 'Washing Machine' which my uncle sees as their best, didnt really do anything for me TBH.

Alrite man, you got good taste, Sonic Youth are awesome. My favourite album is Goo. Cant beat some 'Mildred Pierce' when your feeling a bit mental.. Also the 'Bad Moon Rising' album with 'Death Valley 69' - song they did with Lydia Lunch is class- check out the video. I noticed a lot of Sonic Youth songs in your recentley played list which i didnt recognise alonside an album cover I dont recognise. Is it their new album 'The Eternal'? Is it out already? As for you liking The Smiths, howd you like Morrissey's solo stuff ?
