Nice! His latest album "Michael" was really good but his best one was "R.A.P. Music" - unbelievably good and serves as the beginning of his creative collaboration with producer El-P who he'd go on to form Run the Jewels with. Assuming you've listened to RTJ before...?

I liked KOD and The Off Season enough. I really like 4YEO but I don't think he'll ever top 2014FHD - that's his classic.

Nice! If that's what you've been into lately then I'd suggest checking these out: Hiatus Kaiyote, The Internet, SAULT, Robert Glasper, Butcher Brown, Nicole Bus, Louis Cole, Ari Lennox.

So totally am familiar with Ari (love her, she's great), SAULT, and the internet. I've listened to all of Ari and even briefly saw her open up for someone (I want to say JID) a while ago. I've listened to some of SAULT's songs as Spotify had them on random and didn't know Cleo Sol (another favorite of mine) was the vocalist. And yeah I like the Internet too bc of Syd, great voice! However, I will check out your other artists! How is life treating you in Canada??

Yow man, what's good? So normally i'd leave a "fire" and "W" comment on people's shoutbox. But this is classic man. Seeing Wu-tang's "Enter the Wutang (36 Chambers) in your top 10, men made my day. One of the best Raw and classic album i've ever heard , and i'm gen z. Sadly, most of their scrobbles i had were before i had a last fm account, and by the time i knew how to import scrobbles it was prolly too late, and i thought it just wasn't worth it. Love the Outkast, Lamar and MFDOOM too. In short, this is classic... this is the second profile of this calibre that i have bumped into in lastfm, first having Outkast,Jay-z,MF doom, Common, Kendrick, Nas on their top 10. Are you also into mixtapes? Any recs?

Hey bro thanks for the nice words about my taste! Listening to 36 Chambers is like listening to one of the old Black Sabbath albums - I get that same raw energy when listening to either of those. Absolute classic for sure! I'm lucky enough to have seen them a few times live. And yeah as for Outkast, Ms Jackson was the song that got me into music in general so I owe a lot to them. For MF DOOM I literally have a big tattoo of him on my arm so I've been a big fan of his for about 20 years now. Not sure if these would count as mixtapes but they're not on streaming services and I always loved them but Action Bronson's Blue Chips 2 and Tom Caruana's "Black Gold" Wu-Tang Clan/Jimi Hendrix mashup tape. Some seriously great stuff there.

A beautiful and profound record. It's intensely and deeply personal, more so than anything he has done in his career so far. I think it sits among his discography nicely. And I'm just super impressed with how he managed to still make something that sounds different sonically than any of his previous albums. It's not an easy listen and demands repeat listens to really get it, but it's very worthwhile and offers so so much. He's a true artist for sure.

I agree completely. on the first listen i was a little unimpressed and indifferent towards it mostly because i felt like it didn't meet the expectations I'd had for the last five years. after hearing it in total about 10 times now though, i think it's a fantastic project and a great addition to his amazing discography. there's still a couple of tracks I'm iffy on but the production and songwriting is absolutely beautiful

Thank you so much! - Sampa The Great was cool, I appreciate her embracing her background as an Nigerian American..not something we see too much in hip hop! Definitely added to my playlist! - Erykah Badu was also great and I realized I knew a lot of her mainstream songs just from them being sampled in other songs which I thank you for helping me find them, her aesthetic was always very unique and interesting. Also added to my playlist! - Little Simz reminds me a lot of Sampa except with more uptempo beats. Her music is also very unique and out of my comfort zone like Sampa but I really liked her song Woman and that is definitely added to my playlist as well. - McKinley Dixon is out of my aesthetic for sure. Dixon’s songs definitely have a deep meaning but I’m not really into it too much…still have an appreciation for the message though! - JPEGMAFIA is an artist I definitely listened to back in 2018 and I thank you for reminding me of such great music! - JPEGMAFIA is an artist I definitely listened to back in 2018 and I thank you for reminding me of such great music! His newer music is equally as good as the songs I loved in 2018. - Fela Kuti is definitely someone I’m exposed to as a Nigerian and I won’t say I’m a fan but I enjoy Zombie and definitely acknowledge his legacy in the music industry. - Denzel Curry was one of my most listened to artists in 2018. I enjoyed his TA1300 Album very much and I remember when he blew up in 2017 with Ultimate. - Cookin’ Soul reminds me a lot of Freddie Gibbs and Tyler, The Creator and I enjoyed previewing his music! Added to the playlist! - MF Doom , Madvillian and Madlib are probably the best trio in hip hop. Madvilliany is a classic album and MM Food is even better! I wish my scrobbles from past years would show up because that album was one of my favs! Again, thank you so much! If there’s any other recommendations please let me know, I enjoy listening to and finding new music!

Honestly adding comedy tracks to my library on Spotify is key. When I'm working I want to just have music on all day but instead of putting it on shuffle, I just sort my tracks by song title (A-Z) and go through them all that way. Since I save a lot of comedy tracks, it brings some nice variety and even acts as breaks or intervals from the music that's constantly being played. Just figured it was worth a mention in case you might want to do something similar some time.

Ever get your hands on the MF Doom issue of FRANK 151 Magazine? Some sick artwork in there and some interesting accounts of various masks throughout history. Recommend it if you're a big Doom fan.. Was pretty fitting that I rediscovered the book in my collection last year in 2020.

Hahaha I think is looks nicer to reply on the person´s shoutbox than in a thread here but I agree with the part about having to remember what has been said. However now that we have the reply option, I just type the shout using this feature, then cut and paste the reply on your shoutbox ;) I have knows BTBAM for years but never really took the time to listen to them. I think they will play in Brazil next year. These days I am super into post metal and very little into proggy stuff. Let me know what you think about the new CoL.

Damn, I haven't received a shout in ages! Let's do this the old way when I come to your profile to type a shout the way it was before that silly reply feature. Tbh I gave up waiting on a new TOOL album in 2013. I think the album is good and the MissTool from 2008-09 (when I think this album should have come out) would love it but these days I just think is more of the same. Nothing new, nothing innovative. I got to know so many amazing bands during the years TOOL took to put this album out and I am way more excited about their releases than TOOL's. To me AOTY goes to Cult of Luna. I am in love with it. What about yourself?

And with the drake release some of them were singles that never got put in his main albums, some of them were on his main albums, and some I’d imagine were on mixtapes or unreleased. I wouldn’t be shocked if he had one or two new singles too. So who knows lol as long as you enjoyed it :)
