Thanks very much for opening my ears to the great Terry Reid. I truly appreciate the the time you took to make the recommendations for me. I am a great fan of both Tim Buckley and Harry Nilsson. Want to say that I am really happy that we are friends; your taste in music seems impeccable. Hope you can recommend some more of your faves again.

Think I'm gonna try to go in headfirst with Assassin. Maybe both at the same time. Worth a shot, I think.

@ I Put A Spell On You : fully agree, CCR's version is great. But besides it is fun to listen to originals to see how the song evolved, how it inspired to make there own rendition. grts, Frank.

Hi Mallory, thx for the shout…. :) Why Rogue Waves? Cause it`s a brilliant album, one of my all time favs, alone because of “Walk Away Renee” & “Believe in the Magic”. Absolute brilliant songs. Yes, I saw “Stalker” a long time ago, also a great movie, but “Solaris” is really a highlight. Greetings from Germany…. :)

Cool I never heard that one, I have an album from the 70's called River and I don't recall what it sounded like now. Your enthusiasm is inspiring so shall have a listen to the track you mentioned. Makes you wonder how Zeppelin may have developed if he had joined. Have a great week :)

I have not repurchased many older cd's no they are not cheap here as most are imports and they sting you big time. Yes I would have been young at that time.I can thank my mother for having the Yardbirds in her music. I liked some of it more than others but I loved Led Zeppelin from the start. I read a lot about Led Zeppelin and the Yardbirds back in the mid 70's The evolution of the Yardbirds that led to Led Zeppelin involved a lot of musicians who later became rock legends. Truely an amazing time and interesting story.

Hi Thanks for the heads up, If i recall he was with the Jaywalkers when I was a teenager, I remember he was involved with the Yardbirds in some way but if memory serves me he went to the USA for an extended period. I have some LP's somewhere. It takes so much time to convert them to digital! But good reminder thanks. :)

Only a freakin' year late; my apologies: "When did you see Terry Reid? Which line-up (if you remember?)" He opened for Cream at Madison Square Garden in New York City (maybe 1970?), followed by The Buddy Miles Express. Terry's band sported an organist, I have no recollection who was in the lineup, but the band played songs almost entirely from Bang, Bang (which was a brand spanking new release).

Wow. Yeah, I can definitely hear the influence when I listen to Zeppelin, of course in Robert's voice. Those videos are fantastic, by the way. I'm surprised more people don't listen to Terry, actually.
