I'll be very happy if TGSOE turns out to be half as good as GLS :D I really like that song and agree how Floor made it rise on a whole another level. Outstanding vocals on that one, the ending from SS/Buenos Aires concert gives me shivers each time. Regarding The Quantum Enigma, I found it to be a profoundly well written piece but it happens to be a bit too much for me to listen to in one take. At moments it sounds majestic, at moments kitsch, but overall I think it might be their magnum opus. I would love to see them perform live again, their show in Zagreb I attended was quite amazing.

The band uploaded a video recently in which Tuomas explains how he initially designated Edema Ruh as the first single for the album but how Troy and Marco convinced him that Élan would be a better choice. I think how he hates the whole single-choosing business, it's actually quite counter-productive for metal bands in general when you think about it - it's a concept adapted mainly for popular music as a way of presenting new songs but it hardly shows what the actual body of work sounds like. And Nightwish are quite diverse in terms of having different dynamics to their songs, so be sure to expect a varied album. As for the quality, we'll just have to wait and hear :)

Well, mixed feelings. I really like the chorus, especially the last one when she shifts it in a higher gear a bit. I have no problem with the folkyness (?) of it, I only wish it was a bit heavier and had a bit more power to her vocals. I do hope it won't bore me to death after some time, like Nemo and Amaranth did. Can't say I liked the video much though, seems a bit cheesy for my taste. Most of the reviews for the album say Élan is the weakest song of the bunch and one of few with the typical verse-chorus-verse structure. The reviews really got me excited for this whole thing, I believe how despite these underwhelming two songs we have an amazing album coming. Sagan didn't really catch my attention; I do like the instrumental part and the keyboards, that was a lovely touch, reminiscent of some old stuff. All in all, I'm glad it's left out of the standard album. Your impressions :)?
