Hi friend, thanks for the comments! I really appreciate it the kindness. I'm a struggling alcoholic but I still try to be a decent guy. Also, where are you from? Specifically, I'm South England ☺️

Still Life have a few really beautiful acoustic tracks, check out their track A Fieldmouse Lullaby (ALWAYS makes me tear up). The Hated have a two song acoustic EP. Check out Reaching Away and The Deadwood Divine as well.

happy new year mate, i don't usually find something i reckon you'd like that you haven't already got in your library but i don't think it says you've heard This Is a Hospital by The Ghost. you might like, might not, but I think it's quite underrated

hey mate, appreciate you checking in. know i'm not the best for getting back. not bad, but been unable to exercise cos of an injury so not able to medicate how i like to. i actually delayed checking out starmarket cos i know they're big for you and i had shifted into a prog phase (i have these pretty distinct mood/genre shifts), and if i tried emo stuff then it wouldn't have got below the skin. i've sorta bent thru prog to math and back into emo now, so i'm trying starmarket rn and really enjoying. it's like somewhere between post-grunge and title fight stuff. it's mad that they're from smalltown sweden! my (track) recs would be 'on edge' by 'a country western' and 'the brazil' by 'they are gutting a body of water', which have stuck in my head loads lately. how are you?

i agree, pretty much all of their early stuff is great. i dont think ive ever even listened to any of their post-90s stuff (except for the more recent archival records) . but im a huge fan of Home Is In Your Head, just a beautiful perfect album that enchants me and takes me a different world every time i listen

I like some of their post-90s material but it just doesn't have the same impact as their early stuff does to me. Home Is In Your Head is simply pure magic: unique, mesmerising and haunting. There's still nothing like it. A desert island disc for me.

If that's the case, check out Red House Painters as well. Sun Kil Moon is the project of songwriter Mark Kozelek who was the singer of RHP. He made some of the most beautiful music until 2015 and now makes boring, spoken work junk. Also a pile of shit man so don't read about him 🤣 I'd recommend Red House Painters before Sun Kil Moon

Every mornin' at the mine you could see him arrive He stood six-foot-six and weighed two-forty-five Kinda broad at the shoulder and narrow at the hip And everybody knew ya didn't give no lip to big John (Big John, big John) Big bad John (big John) Nobody seemed to know where John called home He just drifted into town and stayed all alone He didn't say much, kinda quiet and shy And if you spoke at all, you just said, "Hi" to Big John Somebody said he came from New Orleans Where he got in a fight over a Cajun Queen And a crashin' blow from a huge right hand Sent a Louisiana fellow to the promised land, big John (Big John, big John) Big bad John (big John) Then came the day at the bottom of the mine When a timber cracked and men started cryin' Miners were prayin' and hearts beat fast And everybody thought
