I just read your comment in the shoutbox for "What Difference Does It Make?": "This was my favorite Smiths song until I heard "Stop Me if You Think You've Heard This One Before." ---absoluetely spot on! I was feeling the exact same!!

Hey, we haven’t talked for a long time. Would you do me a favor? Please scrobble anything by artist name Tomomi Midair World. I’d like for her to get more listeners. Regardless, glad you’re still here.

I heard my 10,000th scrobble of the year on 11/29/21, "Sixteen Blue" by The Replacements!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was also the sixteenth song of the day, which is spooky, because it was unplanned. This was the sixth straight year in which I scrobbled more than 10,000 songs to Lastfm!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ad blocks on Spotify are ridiculous. They used to air every three songs, but now it's every two songs. It's taking too long to hear the number of songs that I want to hear, and if I switch to the Lastfm player, I'll hear badly recorded live versions of songs. I also refuse to subscribe to Spotify for ad-free music because they promote too many political causes that I oppose. I'm not letting them do that with my money. So this is farewell, possibly. And I'm very sad about that, because I overwhelmingly loved to listen to music on Spotify and at Lastfm.

I've heard my usual 32 songs on two consecutive days since posting the shout on June 3, and the ad blocks were aired every three songs, not every two. So it's business as usual, thank goodness. I'm relieved, because it would have been so painful to stop listening to music on Spotify every day.

"Evangeline" by The Cocteau Twins was my 10,000th scrobble of 2018!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If anyone is wondering why I post messages about important milestones in my Shoutbox, it's because Lastfm used to have separate profiles where you could do this, and they're gone now. In fact, they were removed a few years ago.

Hello again from Bochum, John, time really flies... you still make use of lastfm after more than 9 years :-) ... When you look back now, how did your musical exploration progress over this decade? ... Wishing you all the lovely music in accomplishing your upcoming "2600 artists scrobbled" milestone... How I came by your user page, again? ... I am reading old lastfm emails from 2015

Your technical scrobble issues seem to have been worked out. I'm looking forward to seeing your post when you reach 100k.

Oh yeah, my scrobbling problem was solved a long time ago!!!!!! And 100K????? Oh my goodness, imagine that!!!!!! I use my Shouts Page like I used my old Profile to make announcements like that. I already have way more scrobbles than I ever thought I would when I joined, because I didn't think that I would get my own lap top. Now I've had it for over three years.

Yes, yes, I've discovered Blood Red Shoes, Hop Along (passionate singing). Jenny Owen Youngs, and Wolf Alice. All incredible, and perfect for a Sleater_Kinney fan. Speaking of which, I love their new live album. I also like the Jesus and Mary Chain's new album, many years in the making.
