I'm listening to the new Rhett Miller & Black Prairie. And because we're the only folks listening to it, I naturally thought of you! Best wishes!

I have. It's a nice return to form even if not a great deal more than that. But hey, Bob Mould on form is a pretty great thing. It will no doubt earn a spot somewhere in my year-end best of list. (Which, incidentally, I count down during the month of December on Facebook. Befriend me there if you are curious to follow along. My full name is Barry Allen Hendges.)

Like that answer. I was unsure when asking the question (thus the question); however, it hit me all of a sudden just a little while before I seen your response that it seems to be playing on the paranoia theme. Sometimes things that later appear "somewhat obvious" trip me up for awhile (for example: a common saying can sometimes throw me off for years until one day it just clicks).

Thanks, you won't regret listening to Phil Roebuck and Bison. Truly some great artists coming out of the Norfolk/Va Beach area. Saw we got the Hackensaw Boys in common. I love those guys.

Hey, thanks for the note. Yeah, I really, really do like the new Great Lake Swimmers album.... But I was also getting ready for last night's GLS show here. The band was really spot-on. That was one of the best concerts I've seen this year.

solo albums by each person in Daniel, Fred and Julie are all outrageously good, The Weather Report, Slaid Cleaves, The Scud Mountain Boys and Dan Michaelson & The Coastguards all seem like stuff you'd probably be into, also I recommend John Fahey to anyone who hasn't heard his work yet... you'll hear his influence everywhere once you get into him, also you would probably enjoy this blog if you don't already... http://slowcoustic.com/

The new Dan Mangan is soooooo soooo good. "Starts With Them, Ends With Us" might be the greatest thing I've heard in weeks

Tinarawin couldn't make it in. Visa problems. I blame Harper. If you ever get a chance to see Anny Lou or Matt Anderson, check 'em out. It was great to see the Jayhawks and Toots and the Maytals as well. When is Ness Creek?

No Britney did not turn up and yes Callahan was f-ing brilliant....as was your radio station! I must admit I fell asleep for about 40 minutes of it, but what I heard was fantastic. I only like to listen to a few last.fm friend's stations, I get picky sometimes. Yours made the list. I guess you Canadians have good taste... ;)

Think I'm gonna have a listen to your radio station here in a bit. I'll give you your report card tomorrow. I'm secretly hoping Britney Spears pops up in the rotation.

Yeah, see what you can do about getting those boys in my living room...pull strings, talk to those friends in high places, bribe them, get the mafia involved...do what you have to do! Thanks for the song, listening now. I dig. Can't wait for the new album.

Oh it is indeed a very beautiful city, and pretty much everyone comes through here to play shows. Spoiled for choice really. When you do get your ass here drag those Deep Dark Woods boys with ya...so they can play in my living room. This needs to happen ;)

well, as it turns out, a million tracks is the last.fm limit. after that, you're cut off. nothing else registers. so i'm going to be at a million forever. it wasn't accurate anyway, which probably goes without saying. itunes kept scrobbling my entire ipod listening history and submitting it without my permission. the ratios are right, artists-wise, but the numbers are seriously inflated. i'm thinking about wiping it all out and starting fresh, but i've also found that it's kind of nice to be unplugged from the scrobbling. i probably didn't need to provide you an essay about this. hope it's good times where you are.

Yep, I was aware of Will's other artistic endeavors. Between those paintings and his 20,000 musical projects he seems like such a passionate artist. I've been obsessed lately, and I take it my charts are showing it:) Check out this video if you haven't already (I hope vimeo works in Canada): http://vimeo.com/16508404

Hey Randy, Lightfoot was one of my first favorite artists. I was a big fan of his in my early-to-mid teen years. I still have a soft spot for his work. But I hadn't even realized I'd been listening to him more than usual until he popped up on my 3 month most listened to list here.

Thanks, i do see a lot of artist I've never heard of before in that list too ;) Probably artists I tagged with 'to listen for jan'. Have you ever listened to my band 'Hobo's Hope'? Our recordings are quite crappy, but you might like it.
