Hi! Just got back from a few weeks in the UK. Hope you had nice holidays and look forward to reading your reviews. I've listened to your album a few times, but want to have a few more listens before I put pen to electronic paper.

It's a deal! Choose any two of the following albums - I'll send you the links to download them later. They're albums I don't know that much about but I've always been curious about them. Duncan Browne - Duncan Browne Jobriath - Creatures of the Street John Cale - Artificial Intelligence Any preferences about what album of yours I should review?

idk I got Smilehouse before the other four, so it's the one I've listened to most and the one I'm most familiar with. I feel like the other ones I haven't given enough of a chance as full albums, though there are many standout tracks that I absolutely love in each one of them.

I'm good thanks - we're able to listen to music at work but not stream anything, so I got a bit stale with the new old music thing. Had today off so I was able to write http://obscurealbums.com/2012/07/berntholer-merry-lines-in-the-sky-2004/ - hopefully the first of many!

Fantastic - you give it a personal touch. I especially liked the description "The faint percussion sounds like eerie footsteps in an abandoned house, as Sterling’s acoustic guitar somehow finds a midpoint between dissonant twang and forlorn jangle" - definitely hit it right on the head. I'll do as you suggest and start with Chair... Hopefully it should provide some incentive for me to pull my finger out and write some goddamn reviews - at this rate I'm going to be the Grant Hart to your Bob Mould!

Must say I haven't really been hooked by anything other than The Kick Inside, but my musical listening habits are like a dog with a stuffed animal: give an album a thorough shaking then move on to the next. Looking forward to getting your Polvo Ultimate Guide in 2014! I may have to write my own competitive Throwing Muses one, especially if you disagree that the Real Ramona and University are the best, or say a single cross word about Hunkpapa. By the way, I don't think you ever put up those early reviews? Do you want me to do it?

I got stuck on my Ultimate Guide, I'm trying to find a way of saying that Serge's most critically acclaimed album (Melody Nelson) is way overrated without sounding like an arse. Next I'll do a Post-Pet Sounds Beach Boys ultimate guide I reckon.

If you like Martika's singing, you'll like Ms. Bush. I've been listening to religiously to The Kick Inside (minus Wuthering Heights, which I'm sick of) and it has some hidden gems, like the Saxophone Song and Oh To Be In Love. The later albums aren't on Spotify so I wouldn't know about them. As for the reviews, please feel to put up whatever you want! I think the site needs more regular updates anyway - I'm hoping to do one tomorrow, still not sure what though...

I've just been going through Lennon's back catalogue since it's now all on Spotify, and they usually take it in turns on the later albums so that's why last.fm credits it to her. Must say I prefer her songs to Lennon's most of the time - not always in tune but always interesting.

I just stumbled upon it yesterday in fact. It's very clean and fresh - you didn't fancy going all out and getting the .com version?

I really enjoyed reading this one, Si - she seems like a really interesting person. She should maybe tone done the murder songs a bit though - no wonder she had a breakdown. I just have "This Is Stina Nordenstam" and "The World is Saved" on Spotify - are either of these worth a listen?
