I have found the musical love, that is Devin Townsend. I have been trying to find out for the last month who it was who initially recommended them, and I'm sure it was you! Miss you, I'm forgetting your name, Grahak, Grumo, Greyham? Amd your looks, you had 3 legs right, plus that weird 4th one.

Have you heard any genuine contenders for album of the year in 2011? So far I'm favouring Active Child, Banjo or Freakout, Kuedo, Machine Drum, Natalie Beridze, and Radiohead. But none of them feel like the same standard as last year's best (Actress, Eleven Tigers, Emeralds, FlyLo, Shed). People seem to be raving about 2011 being a great year - what have I missed??

Thanks dude-ditto looking forward to seeing your list. There is a feeling this side of the lastfm fence that the albums this year don't tell the whole story-in the sense that eps/singles in 2010 have been pretty epic-or maybe it's the same every year?

Well the new Shed album is excellent-but I would guess you are already on that. Pariah's Safehouses EP is very good but might be a little light for your taste? Deerhunter is my album of the week. You've got the Lorn album & new Fly-lo EP right?

haha yes that happens! related note: i think it's the song "Ruby" but one of Mount Kimbie's tracks has this subtle beep buried in it occasionally that sounds exactly like getting a text on my phone so I grab it throughout the song constantly... (ps nice to see others getting into Eleven Tigers. that album grows and grows and grows... I've had it for 2 months and keep listening more and more often)

do you know when you look at a planet, and you see that light... that light's not even there! that's just a light, that's just your neighbour shining a flashlight, right into your yard... looking for 'coons. and he says: "what are you doing in my backyard, with that flashlight?" and i told him: "Im shining, im shining it in the window so i can teach your son about the universe". he said "get outta my yard! why are you communicating to my son? why are you in all black? behind my bushes shining a light in my house... ?" i said: "im teaching your son about the universe! im shining a light, im shining a light right in there: exploring his room, as he's looking out and exploring the universe. i turn the light off, and i see your son go to bed and i turn the light back on and do swirls on his wall, like a comet's tail... i do this every night with your son".

Yeah I know what you mean some of the stuff can be a bit indulgent. Medicine Show One is straight up rap with interludes http://www.stonesthrow.com/news/2009/11/madlib-medicine-show also the Guilty Simpson album is more rap than ambient hip-hop beats http://www.stonesthrow.com/news/2009/07/guilty-simpson-madlib-oj-simpson

Hey Grizz-I'd have to agree-the only things that come close for me are Alex Smoke, Clubroot & Four Tet-though Cosmogramma is starting to grow on me & I'm loving some of the Madlib stuff at the moment.
