Hey Chamberk! We saw that you have a pretty good music taste and thought that you'd maybe like our music as well. We are three girls from the forests of Sweden and we are going to record our very first album in Woodstock this summer! We would love if you checked out this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmTj6CzmAp4 ! Let us know what you think (it's much appreciated) by commenting the video, and also check out our cover of 'Kathy's Song' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44kjqZUC5PU that we got the chance to play live for Paul Simon! Love, VIDAR

oh man that's cool i wonder if the national would ever cover a kinks song and if so which one? what a change that would be wouldn't it be something? it is something interesting to imagine. anyway i am being dominated by thiss 'sea of love' song which will definitely sound great on record, plus then that 'heavenfaced' slowburner is right after and i'm totally getting a b-side alligator feel for this record, with the loud contrasting with the soft back and forth we go! less than a month to go. alligator is my favourite national album but i'm getting ready to put the crown on this one.

I miss the old MC too. But, the Cricket and now the Closet has turned into something I didn't expect. Despite the very different personalities and tastes, it has become a bit like a family. At this point, everybody genuinely gets along. If you think about it, it's really cool how we all found each other after the Cricket went down, and the conversations have started up again as if nothing has changed. The new forum is annoying, but I'm getting used to it. I'm glad you made it over. And, the new Lamar album is the shit! I'm becoming a true fanboy.

What is your opinion on the new Liars? I haven't really listened to any of their previous albums, but some friends have talked me into giving this one a shot.

Congratulations on your plans for this year. I'm really happy for you. I wish I could come DJ your reception. Also, we just bought a house last year, and it was a really eye opening process. I could give you tons of advice, but that would ruin the "surprise". I think it's a lot of fun if you go into it with the right attitude.

Hey Cham. Interesting to see that we were both on a Spoon kick just now. I'm amazed at how everytime I first hear a new Spoon album I'm underwhelmed, but by a year or so later I think it's the most amazing thing ever. I need to give Transference another shot soon. My life has been fantastic. My oldest little girl just turned 3 yesterday. And a few months ago my work moved me to an office in my home town, cutting my commute from an hour one-way to ten minutes. And above that, I'm the only one here, so I can blast whatever music I want off the walls. It's a good life.

Yeah, I just picked up the remastered Siamese Dream and Gish. Before this, I only had the Pumpkins' greatest hits. I don't know why I never really got into the band before. Both albums are pretty great, tho, and I'm looking forward to the remastered Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness next year.

Yeah. Future Islands was possibly my most anticipated album yet this year, and it meet my expectations. I've only been listening to it for a few days now, but I'm really enjoying the depth. Subdued is a good term for it. I keep trying to call it "slower", and that isn't exactly accurate. I think it fit together as an album a lot better than anything they have done before. It's really well paced as an album and has some good flow. Also, "Balance" has a pretty cool video. All of this said; I would probably sacrifice the whole thing just for 3:00 of something as amazing as "Tin Man" again. But I can't fault them for making a warm fire instead of a loud explosion.

It's nice to see you listening to Camera Obscura's first album. That album, and the band as a whole, doesn't get nearly enough praise as it deserves.

Interestingly enough, the day after I talked to you about the Black Keys, my boss, who is an older business owner engineer type, was rocking out to them in the back room without any cohersion from me. He was with a friend of his and it was kindof funny listening to them try to figure them out. I was so tempted to jump into the conversation and look like a total know it all snob to my boss, and completely blow away his illusion of himself being a hip young music fan. I made the mistake of telling him how much music I have on my harddrive one day when he was bragging about how he had 25 gigs. He was like "Someday, when you are my age, you will have a music library as big as mine." and I was all music nerd and went "Actually..." He was in a bad mood with me for the next few weeks. Anyway, I'll have to check out "Rubber Factory".

So, I keep trying to find a way to describe the Black Keys that doesn't involve the term "Badass" and it's really not possible. That album just sweats confidence with every fist pump. Good stuff. Now, "Everlasting Light" wakes me up in the morning. Anyway. I don't know how it would rate in a 2010 list. I seem to lose focus on it before it's over. But it's a great album. Thanks for recommending it.

Hey Chamberker. No. I haven't posted a 2010 list yet. I tried to do some things differently this year, and started a spreadsheet program to keep track of my lists, and I was a little over ambitious and never got the program completely written. So, that made me get behind in my usual tabulations and going back to a more traditional list routine where I actually just choose the order seemed like throwing away the idea of inventing airplane travel and just jumping off a cliff to save some time. I still have dreams of completeing my nefarious machine and unveiling it to the cricket world to laugh at and delete, but who knows when that will happen. Anyway. I really loved your list. I've made a wishlist of albums to check out off of it that I haven't heard yet.

Dude. Norah Jones? I guess I should check out her new album. I've always loved her voice, and spent a lot of time with her last albums. I was excited about her new one, but for some reason I never followed through to the point of listening. I think I watched the video for "Chasing Pirates" and afterwards I couldn't remember the song at all, and just left it at that.

I'm glad you are liking Mines. There are some tracks I get less excited about in the middle part, but over all I think it's my favorite Menomena album simply because of it's consistency. It's peaks are not at all high enough to reach the top tracks on any of their previous albums though. "Wet and Rusting" and "Muscle 'N Flo" will always be their best songs.
