Yeah I do. The run from Track 5-8 is probably my favorite but I like the direction they're going. I never gave the 2020 album much of a chance and probably need to go back again. Big fan of their sound though. Guitar kinda reminds me of Sebastiano Lillo who i heard sometime at the beginning of last year. Probably some other desert psych out there that might be better comparison and more well known, but check out his song Babylonya.

I think I only listened to it once. I'll make sure to listen to it again. I've not been listening to as much music on Spotify lately. Need to get back into ripping tunes all day.

Best thing since Kids See Ghosts from him and it's better than TLOP imo. I'd rather hear flourishing Kanye over some Graduation synths and a slough of nice features than Kanye in agony yelling that he'll fuck on the sink right now... TLOP's best song is one that wasn't even recorded during the TLOP time period, and it's made a classic by Madlib and Kendrick. TLOP was a bastardized album that he said "was a Gospel album". If you ask me, this is a true Gospel album and it blows JIK out of the water. I can't even remember one track off JIK

Yes, it's too long. Yes it's not perfect and Kanye clearly isn't over his divorce. Yes the intro is bizarre. But the Thug feature? Believe what I say, 24... those tracks are exactly what I wanna hear from Ye.

I agree the album is the best since Kids and it's better than Ye/TLOP ... However imo it could be better. 1) some fillers and 2) some tracks take too long. If he had somebody who was familiar enough with the Yeezy sound to edit it as a second opinion, this record could have been the next MBDTF. Allinall im very happy with it

More than satisfied. I think it'll take a few more weeks for me to determine where it ranks in line with his recent work however.

I agree - it didn't compare to the first Lost Tapes sadly, but Nas' mediocre is basically fantastic for any other rapper, so I let usually let releases like Nasir and this (although they were both very different and have different upsides) slide. I liked Adult Film. Really fucking glad that Swizz laid off the verses cause Summer on Smash off Life is Good is one of my least favorite Nas songs of all time. How you feel about the new Pouya record? I was very surprised by it and it seems that you prefer a more aggressive style of rap so it might be right up your alley if you haven't peeped it yet.

On another note, I checked your two playlists on spotify - I fuck with them heavy & added them to my hip-hop folder.

Your comment had me hollering. Just did some research into Pouya though cause I was curious about his background and he apparently came up rapping about coming from Poverty... so maybe he's taking on a character? Idk either way, I think that song is probably the worst one on the album. Check the later tracks.

Cold Day in Hell was the first thing I ever heard from him and knew he was going places. I was surprised the project with Alc & Curren$y didn't blow but that's just Curren$y's career for ya. It's so funny because he's been dropping music for years... often times 6-8 projects a year and it didn't make much sense to me but now that streaming is the game, it does make a little more sense. Still though, you gotta let some time for you music to breathe. The listeners gotta make memories to your songs for them to stand the test of time

These days, I'm digging into Hip-Hop samples (mostly instrumentals) so if you suggest any specific album(s), let me know. I have been listening to some Madlib and MF DOOM (Metal Fingers presents Special Herbs Volume 0-9)

Yo, Geogaddi is their darkest album; also my favorite. However, for starters I think the two EPs - Hi Scores and In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country would be ideal. (:

Damn not just a record but a double album, I'll have to find time to properly listen to it in one sitting. His progression since Perfect Hair has been real impressive so I'm stoked

These seven tracks have been a legit wet dream of mine for over 10 years at this point. Getting strong WZRD vibes off a lot of this stuff. Cudi is just reminding everyone who started all this shit. I personally have nothing against XXXtentacles but I think Cudi took notes. Saw that he could release something short and something infused with Rock but it HAD to have those hip-hop elements, sort of similar to what him and Dot did back in the day. Definitely think Cudi and Ye separately need to stick to shorter releases in the future. Seems more streamlined, less all over the place, and just overall better. How about you dude?

I realised that Blu put out a new record like 6 days after it was released and went to listening immediately. It still had the underwater-sounding-beats going, but you know what? That shit grew on me since I listened to the jesus record. I like the lo-fi sound of Blu and it doesn't turn me off at all. I like the record, but it didn't feel phenomenal. I also dislike most of the guests he featured on it, which is sadly always the case when it comes to Blu. I haven't listened to it enough though, it might become my new favorite record, I have no idea. What did you think of it?
