Tell me have you ever encountered the term "Occidental Metal" explicitly? Anywhere? Anytime? In any context?

@BlindSlaves, Oriental Metal tag is about the genre, which is mixture of metal with Middle-Eastern folk music, not strictly about the bands' geographical origin, so I see nothing wrong there

I love Kartikeya, but how are they oriental metal? They take influence from Indian folk, not Middle-Eastern or Arabic (except for maybe the violin parts.) Either way, Orphaned Land and Myrath are amazing.

Not really. Can you come up with a better description? Middle-eastern metal is too clumsy. Not to mention a number of these bands are happy to accept such a tag.

I absolutely adore the sound of middle eastern music being mixed with rock or metal. It's just perfect.

farzam_hs... oh yeah... pagan metal bands don't have culture or history or anything, right?
