Experimental punk is a term used to describe punk rock bands who experiment with adding elements that usually aren't associated with punk rock and its various subgenres or who make various styles of punk and can't be categorized as one punk genre. Experimental punk can also be used to describe punk genres that happen to be experimental such as post-punk, avant-punk, proto-punk, new wave, post-hardcore, dark cabaret and more.
