Anglo-Saxon metal is a term often used to describe one of the below:
1. Anglo-Saxon, or old English themed bands, often playing a brand of black metal / folk metal. Bands such as Forefather, Frosthold, Ealdulf and Fyrdsman can be termed as such.
2. English metal bands have at times been called 'Anglo-Saxon metal bands', in a similar way as the acronym WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) is used - simply to describe a metal band whose members are of English ethnicity.
