It's crazy that Kevin Barnes can do this, then turn around and do something like Skeletal Lamping ten years later...and have both styles be fucking amazing...the man is a genius.

@RaditAndrogyny I didn't notice that until you said it, but now I totally see the resemblance.

I thought I professed my love for this album a long time ago. I guess I'll do so now: I love you.

The tracklist for this album is tricky (not even the label or band site has it right) and it's all because "Y the Quale..." and "I'd Be a Feathered Loon" are always considered two different tracks when really it should be a split track or "Y the Quale.../I'd Be A Feathered Loon". That noisy bit at the beginning of the track is the Quale part before the song shifts. The rest of the playlist should play out correctly with number 9 being "The Autobiographical Grandpa", 10. "The Miniature Philosopher", 11. "My Friend Will Be Me", 12. "My Favorite Boxer", 13. "Advice from a...", 14. "A Man's Life...", 15. "Nickee Coco And the Invisible Tree", and 16. "The Gay Parade Outro"....This is the definitive way to list this album

I don't know why, but I adore The March of the Gay Parade. "Oh, how nice!" just totally cracked me up.

although it is extremely happy, it has its sad points. this is a teriffic album, and i wish of montreal would have stuck with this format and genre.

This is another fantastic album. I just don't understand how a band could be so consistently....amazing.
