Biography

Oatmello, known by his real name Edwin Cosmos Corbin, is a producer originally from Eugene, Oregon, but currently residing in Portland, Oregon. His musical style is characterized by its laid-back and relaxed atmosphere, mirroring the lowkey demeanor and climate of the Pacific Northwest.

As a child, Oatmello developed a fondness for music with the small Fisher-Price portable record player gifted to him by his parents. Growing up in the '90s, he became a fan of hip-hop, listening to iconic artists like Wu-Tang Clan and . These pioneering artists would later serve as inspiration for his hip-hop infused beats as Oatmello.

Despite being classically trained in piano, he secretly disliked practicing and felt the need to find his own creative niche in music. The discovery of beat making during his teenage years marked a turning point in his musical journey. The realization that he could create his own music and not just recite others' works perfectly filled him with excitement and passion for beat making.

The moniker "Oatmello" originated during a morning stroll with his wife on Mississippi Avenue in Portland. It was a spontaneous suggestion by his wife, and he adopted it as the name for his new music project.

His earliest track on Soundcloud is "☝ v a c c i n e ☝," uploaded on February 9, 2015. On March 17, 2017, he made his debut on Spotify with the album "Sunrise."

He made his first appearance on Chillhop Music with the single "No Way Back," released on May 14, 2018. The album "Soft Landing," released on March 7, 2019, via Inner Ocean Records, showcases his dynamic and personal style, blending soft piano and guitar melodies with an air of elation and freedom. The album is also available on Limited Edition White Vinyl, accompanied by a previous EP titled "Between Us."

Additionally, Oatmello collaborated with ØDYSSEE on the album "Myst Isle," released on June 7, 2019, via mello-fi.

Oatmello signed with Nettwerk Records on August 12, 2022.
