iNsCissorS is an ambient project from Athens, Greece. Merging musical genres such as experimental, dark ambient, ritual, industrial structures or neoclassical passages is a part of iNsCissorS' concept in order to create a cinematographic atmosphere and feeling, thus the term "cinematic ambient" derived.
iNsCissorS traces its origins back in 1999 when it was formed by Vincent Andelmoth. The project's name changed from Aes Sîdhe to Introvert Marionettes and finaly it came to take the name it has nowadays "iNsCissorS". Between the years 1999-2006 there were various tracks recorded and experimentations done with a cinematic sound. Meanwhile there was work being done on the visual part of the project since the music and the idea of iNsCissorS is that they are inseparably bound with visuals (artwork, photography or video). The iNsCissorS philosophy is to create a different realm or dimension to describe the environment the soundscapes and music depict.
In the year 2007 the Polish underground label No Angels Prod. came up with a proposal in order to release the iNsCissorS' debut album "The Veratrine Evangelicum" in collaboration with the also Polish label Beast of Prey and so in July 2007 "The Veratrine Evangelicum" was released as a limited edition of 150 copies and got sold out in less than 6 months receiving very good critics from around the world.
The full-length albums "Orbis Terrarum Requiem" and "Mnemosyne & the Structure of Time", and various participations in compilation albums followed. iNsCissorS has also worked along with the photographer/image maker John Santerineross composing the musical scores for John's short films such as "Destin", "Gears", "Moon", "Words", "Ma-Ku" and "Church".
